How about any improvements with regards to noise in the cabin? Any improvements with regards to sound deadening and the like?

The Driver Mode Selector looks like it will really change feel of the car, more so the "competitive Mode" does for the C6:

"Other parameters that are changed in the various settings include the throttle input curve, the steering effort, the exhaust “cutouts”, the launch control, traction control via engine torque..."

Ahhh, I see. Thanks for the info.

(LOL @ exterior air bags...)

Yeah, just look at all of the new Euro cars and you'll evidence of the Euro pedestrian safety regs. All of them have really high hoodlines. The BMWs in particular look really goofy because of it.

Wow. Guess I've had my head in the sand for a while. Never heard of such...

:iagree: very interesting...great read.

Nice read, and I'm VERY happy to see that the steering wheel likely won't be in the production car. It was my biggest gripe about the new car...it didn't look sporty enough to match the rest of the interior or the car.

For the trunk, they did state that fitting a set of golf clubs was a must and taken into consideration. Even if you don't golf, at least it shows there is some functional storage room back there.

I'm hoping they mean two sets of clubs. It's rude to give a buddy a ride to the course and leave his clubs at home.

One thing we semi-teased them about was how they must hate how large bags are getting these days. It looked like there would be enough for two sets of semi-regular sized clubs and bags back there.

I too like that little storage spot behind the infotainment screen. So useful for various items one normally struggles to find a spot for.

Early 1900's, WELL, back to the future.

I just wish the trim around that infotainment screen looked a bit better. I guess that falls under their "if it looks like X, it IS X" and in this case, X is plastic, lol.

Glad to have the extra storage space though :) Won't have to throw crap in my cupholders anymore.

Excellent article - Best I've read to date.

You also touch on something related to the exterior design that I read elsewhere and agree with: There could have been a bit fewer lines and details if the artist had lifted the "paintbrush" a little sooner. Sometimes less is more.

My 2008 C6 is starting to look old...

except those aren't to protect the animals on the tracks, it was there to prevent the train from a derailment. I am going to look at the Vette's nose the same way. In fact I think we should sharpen them up a bit.
