The car looks tremendous - right up to the rear fascia. That is an epic fail. I can't believe they followed through with this design. The only acceptable colors would be gray or black to hide the 2-tone stuff. It might be passable if it could be had without that stupid ducktail spoiler. Just corny and toylike. What's hilarious is that they tried to slap mid-rear engine design elements on a front-mid car. I guess that's Ed Wellburn's interpretation of european.

Anyway, I was absolutely dead wrong about the keeks leak, so there I am on record. I don't know what I'm talking about. I can never again predict design outcomes.:lol:

Looks , but I don't know about those seats.

I am disappointed with who ever is incharge of the exterior design of the 2014 Vette. Why would you break with tradition and put square tail lights on a corvette.

I mean for a car it's not really all that bad. For a Corvette it's an absolute turd. Too many sharp lines that lead to nothing, nor do anything for styling. Maybe possible for a future Chevy truck???

I'll just call it the New C4, as in fugly and boring. :U

Black wheels are the new trend throughout the industry. Get used to them

Black wheels on Red Car is amazing

I'm sold! The car is no longer distinctive - it reminds me of the Nissan GTR from the behind the door. But the car is awesome anyway. Don't understand how anyone can not like the car.

Nice pics, Thanks. Not so sure about the design.

The main thing I took away from the C7 showing was that I guess GM agrees that "Corvettes are supposed to be Red" :D:thumbs:

Likes the look, VERY disappointed with 450 hp, no DSG and weight 95 pounds lighter than std C6 ????

This was no revolution and who can go forward without DSG In 2014 ?

Think they lost my money :ack:

****

Maybe they are saving DSG for the Zo6

rcooper 01-13-2013 10:14 PM

at 135 lbs. lighter and 20 hp more, 50 pound foot more torque up to 4000 rpm and its still only .15 seconds quicker than my 09 z51. all this for about 4 grand more? add the z51 package 'upgraded exhaust and mag. ride, 2lt and you're dropping close to 60k, i need a second job for a 2013 z06.

I can't call my C-6 "The Sexy Bitch" anymore. From now on, she's just "Old Betsy".

Here's why...Corvette has always been distinctive. Especially from behind. You definitely knew you were behind a Vette. Now, you won't know if its a Camaro or a Corvette, seriously, until you're on it up close. I know the C4 ZR1 and 91-96 had a rectangular shaped taillight, but it was still distinctively Corvette. Just my opinion, but I do not like the boxy rear end, and smaller rear window. I don't think it was a "design innovation", more like a retread from Camaro.

jrs 427 01-14-2013 12:08 AM

From the pictures it looks as though the trunk is a hatch back style. Doesn't look like they want to show that image. With the upswept rear styling is the convertible top going to have a good view out the back? The window may be down sized to make the roof look like it belongs.

They said initially they didn't want to ruin a good design. Subtle changes but basically the same car. Engine and interior are the focus points. Why we need more horsepower is beyond me. Can't use what they come with before.

Cadillac designers invited to design meeting ? Sharp body accents is clearly their image in the past years. I hope everyone goes Ga Ga over the C-7. I want a slightly used C-6 convertible.... great functional design, less flash.

RedWing1 01-14-2013 07:17 AM

I really disliked the initial drawings or renderings but that car looks great in real pictures and video. Didn't think I'd say it this morning but that Vette looks great and I look forward to owning and driving one in the next few years. Great job GM!!
