This car will go down as the most beautiful Corvette EVER !!! Quite possibly the best looking automobile to ever come out of this country or the Western hemisphere. Some of us that could see it way back in November 2011 have had to endure the haters (non visionaries) for all this time and now we can all just sit back and admire what the Corvette team has really accomplished. A WORLD CLASS ICONIC SPORTSCAR FROM AMERICA !!!

Only 7 times have new Corvettes entered the market. It is a time for celebration. A celebration for all of us who love Corvettes. Just once I would love to see the haters just shut up and let the rest of us celebrate. But they will not. They do not want to miss a chance to pee on everyone's parade. If you don't like Corvettes just say so and go away.

I can't believe people are still hung up on the tail lights. :crazy2:

The look of the C7 follows most of the new era "muscle" cars like the Mustang and Camaro. There are sharper lines and somewhat of a boxy look. Round tail lights wouldn't fit with the whole sharp edge design. They had to change them up.

Bottom line, the guys working on these cars love them too. They want to make a great car even better and to do that you have to try new things.

The C7 will be a great car....it just might take time to grow on some people. Some may never like it.

One thing is for certain, the real deal is going to look 100 times better than all these renderings and crap we've been fed the past year.

Cmon now...this Autoweek picture looks far better than the best rendering out, which was the blue ox "firing papers". The line drawing doesn't do an ounce of justice though. There's so much more shape to the back end, so much more depth you couldn't see.

This car is gonna be badass. I'm on board 100% now...no question. This is the sickest thing on the street under 90k in 2013. This monster looks incredible for the pricetag. Can you imagine what the ZR1 or Z06 is going to look like...holy hell!

They should not have round red circles on the building ---- Camaro half squares or
what if they pull a true cloak and dagger, poof round lights

Which is why people are still "hung up".

I don't want any version Corvette to follow the design of any other car. The Vette design should be what other cars follow, not the other way around.

The Vette should be a break through vehicle that leads the pack.

The taillights appear to be a bit less tall from top to bottom and they appear also to be a bit longer as well. There is less area under the tail lights which makes the upper portion of the rear looks slimmer. Overall, the rear in the newest picture seems less tall and wider....although all this may be attributed to the fact that the owners manual picture lacks any color and detail. Perhaps the angle is playing tricks on me too.

If that is the rear, Im a bit disappointed.

Is the bottom half going to be that black plastic material?

Currently the entire rear is fiberglass with the black plastic at the very bottom and people still get it painted.

Well of course the 'owner's manual' pic is a pretty crude depiction. It is just an illustration to show where the location of the hatch release button.

The general shapes are there. The 'zine cover has far greater detail and a completely different perspective. One is a close, wide view from higher up and the other is a longer, more compressed, telephoto-like view from a medium angle.

I do not understand what is so bad in camaro?? ZL1 and 1LE and great cars. What am I missing??

jkcam6017 01-12-2013 08:31 AM

I am confident that the azz on the Vette will be lower and slimmer than the Camero regardless of the tail light design.

Some think Kim Kardashian has the perfect butt,......most of them are Camero owners.

Maybe. The real question is what is that area for, looks or function? I've speculated that area MAY be part of the air venting/cooling system. As maniacal as the Corvette team seems about function, I can easily see it being functional.
http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/...psfc61d648.jpg

Aozora 01-12-2013 10:10 AM

Hoping its functional venting for the brakes, differential or at least some aero ducts. If they are not functional i think they will not be received as well as they will be otherwise.

John T 01-12-2013 10:11 AM

This is hard for me to quantify but I am feeling more of the "Stingray" when I see this design lately - the super low hood line and the body draping over in the back. A little more organic in presentation . I like it.

JW3101 01-12-2013 10:24 AM

It doesn't look bad - but, I'll wait until the official reveal.

I tend to belief nothing that I hear or read and 1/2 of what I see.

I don't see what the big deal is with the tailights, there have been generations with different taillights and headlights, etc. I definetely agree that it cannot have generic Camaro taillights, because it wouldn't set it apart - not because I don't like them or the Camaro.

We'll see soon!

The anticipation is killer, most likely many of the renderings are very accurate, but until we actually see it, we can't be absolutely certain. Until I see it in person I won't be able to decide.

It would be kind of cool if these black ears were smoked lenses for some kind of glowing light, kind of like how Blue Ox has it highlighted. Like daytime lights, its daytime rear lights.

There is going to be high pressure air coming out of those blue areas.

GM design chief Ed Welburn this week unfurled a poster on a table at his office in suburban Detroit showing images of the remodeled Corvette along with Stingrays from 1959 and 1963.

“I want this image on every kid’s wall,” he said in advance of the Jan. 13 unveiling of the new car on the eve of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit

Stingray is back!

LT1_E85_Corvette 01-12-2013 09:07 PM

Based off of the front and rear; I am very excited for the release tomorrow. GM wanted to target the younger market, and based off of my friends reactions, they did the job. I'm thinking about getting this silver/carbon color they are showing in the leaked pictures. If they performance specs are faster or equal to C6Z06 specs, this thing will sell, period.

Respectfully disagree, although not a production car, there was a 1959 Stingray. Most likely referring to the Stingray Racer designed and built in 59 which lead to the 63 Sting Ray production car. GM intern, a soon to be famous designed named Peter Brock sketched on a cocktail napkin at 19 years old the first design for the Sting Ray Racer for Bill Mitchell and Harley Earl when on an dinner interview. It became the basis for the 63 Sting Ray, Bill Mitchel teamed Peter with Larry Shinoda to design the 1963 production version on the Sting Ray, yet the racer was built and did race and was known at the 1959 Stingray... notice the spelling Stingray, not the Sting Ray which was the production version.

The rear end looks WAAAY better than the Jalopnik renderings looked. Sometimes the genuine article looks 10x better than drawings, even if the basics are there.

The taillights don't look much like a Camaro's other than the fact that there are four and they are vaguely square-ish... Jesus H, good thing there weren't forums back in 1989 when the 1990 ZR-1 came out!
