Chevy's new mantra...‘Find New Roads’

I'm guessing we will be hearing this one pretty often in relation to the C7...on 1-13-13 and beyond.

Chevrolet Will ‘Find New Roads’ as Brand Grows Globally

Tue, Jan 8 2013
DETROIT – Chevrolet is the world’s fastest-growing major automotive brand and as it continues to expand its global operations it is aligning its engineering, design and retail operations behind a single vision and communications platform – Find New Roads.

The foundation of this new guiding principle is Chevrolet’s legacy of innovation and commitment to doing the right thing for consumers. Find New Roads will be the touchstone for the brand as it develops new products and technologies for sale in more than 140 markets.

“Find New Roads embraces the spirit of ingenuity that has been in Chevrolet’s DNA since the beginning and it will continue to guide every aspect of our business moving forward,” said Mary Barra, senior vice president of Global Product Development. “We have sold Chevrolets around the world for almost a century, but this is the first time we have aligned behind one global vision.

“As we develop new products our designers and engineers will be empowered to find smarter solutions to address customer needs and make their lives better.”

:iagree: Just doesn't seem to have the same "grab ya" effect as previous ones.

Maybe "relearn your favorite roads" or "a whole new drive" or "a new drive on old roads" or..............?

But hey, what do I know - I still think "see the USA in your Chevrolet" and "baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet" are cool!

Maybe that's what's missing - the USA connection?

How about " Corvette - king of the American roads"?

C'mon guys, help me out here.........!!!!

Well, at least now we have something to bitch about other than "the illuminating devices located on the vehicle's derriere".

There, I avoided the "T" word.

Why do you feel the need to turn this into a political discussion?

If you looked carefully, there was actually a Corvette in that video!

DebRedZR1 01-08-2013 06:49 PM

I liked "Roads will Surrender" from one of the preview clips:thumbs:

Maybe we will hear Beyonce sing the new one at the Super Bowl...notice how we haven't heard a word about that yet from GM?

I kinda doubt the Corvette will appear as it is the Pepsi Halftime Show!

The Batman 01-08-2013 07:57 PM

Dinah's song was great, a classic, but I think my favorite Chevy associated tune is one of the newer ones, from Brandi Carlile, The Story:

I like it but actually hoped that this sequence would have been the overtone. I loved this sequence from the second video:

It should be "Find New Car Designers". Everything that has been leaked so far sucks in my opinion. It looks like pieces and design ideas from other cars thrown together. Zero originality and new ideas. Don't fall for the hype and cheesy marketing campaigns.

Maybe they fooled us and a great new design will be unveiled on Sunday. Lets hope so.

Hopper67 01-08-2013 09:11 PM

"Find New Roads" is OK...would have liked "For the Road You're On" better.

flange 01-08-2013 09:30 PM

Isnt this ad campaign really driven at the overseas market, specifically asia, where growth is better by far than it is here in the usa? dont tink the chinese would be thrilled about seeing the USA in a chevrolet these days.

It could be aimed at a more universal audience. Maybe "Find New Roads" translates better globally.

Jinx 01-08-2013 09:43 PM

They can't all be winners. It's just Chevrolet, anyway, not Corvette.

"Roads. Will. Surrender." is perfect for Corvette. I hope that's not the last we've seen of that line.

vant 01-08-2013 09:43 PM

Naw, I bet it's a subliminal message to my state's DOT. Fix these damn roads or I'm finding new one's!

Its the world in whihc we live today. See the USA in your chevrolet is from a bygone era when many in the world would have loved ot do just that. our land has changed dramatically, and they are trying to keep pace.

From the looks of things, they are making a valliant attempt with the new vette as the flagship, along with the newer caddies. Sunday just could be a watershed moment.

Yeah, bygone, like way back in May, 2012 when I drove the Vette from Phoenix to Vancouver, BC, and then back all the way down Highway 101 along the Pacific Ocean. Those were the days

I drove all over 101 last summer when I went to Pebble Beach. Wish I'd had my Vette.

In December I took a weeklong road trip. Drove 3500 miles. The road surrendered.

I used my fee credit paid for entry to 17 Mile Drive to eat a VERY expensive chicken breast lunch at The Lodge at Pebble Beach overlooking the 18th green. To see in person what I had seen and admired so many times on TV was TOTALLY worth it

It was on my bucket list to see the Pebble Beach Concours and Yosemite NP. The wife and I had a fantastic time and I saw a ton of fabo cars there and in Carmel.

That new Chevy slogan totally Sux. Sounds like the new Corona beer ads "Find Your Beach" (The old Corona ads were also much better.)

PureSwank 01-09-2013 12:40 AM

"Find New Roads"......are you serious? That's what a profitable world wide company comes up with? Jesus Christ.

If that's the case then let's just go with "Chevy, I'm gay and proud". Pathedic.

Virtual Geezer 01-09-2013 12:57 AM

The Detroit Three have to be scared sh*tless here in the USA where anyone under 50 believes domestic vehicles are inferior to the offerings from Japan, Europe and Korea.

Those of us who are older remember the glory days of Detroit -- but those memories mean nothing to the young.

The Chevy slogan should be changed to "(Damn We Gotta) Find New Buyers."

The visitors change, but the drama queen quotient remains constant.

zland 01-09-2013 03:17 AM

Personally I do not think a slogan is the key to selling cars. Being best in class, giving the consumer a good product is the key. Next, good service and finally, good resale value.

I doubt people bought Toyotas because of the slogan "you got it Toyota". Many guys bought Toyota mini pick up trucks when younger, than stuck with Toyota when they grew older. Chevy needs to build best in class entry level cars to insure a life time customer base.
