Debbie, Do you think the video on the 10'th will be more 'revealing' the the other three?

The video tomorrow will show off the new door handles at 100x zoom

All,
At the very least, Kudos to GM. Even without seeing the car, they have done a masterful job in stirring up the emotions for the C7. Negative, positive doesn't matter. Frankly I don't recall this level of anticipation since the C4. Their use of social media has been pretty damn good. We have been played like Stradivarius violins and loving every minute. The investment was deserved. Bravo GM. Well played! P.S. that rear tail rake is reminiscent of the 90-96 tail section which suggests to me additional inspiration from the C4 generation. |
anyone think that maybe that banner was made a couple months ago and that the renderings are the latest and greatest?
|
Anybody remember the Vegas "reveal" a few months back? People said they saw only the side of the car for a few seconds. I wonder if this is the same image they saw?

Good googly God almighty...I've never run into a more high strung group of nervous Nellies! :willy: I pass this abandonded building on I-75 every day on my way to work, and when the poster caught my eye for the first time, I definately did a double take! Had to circle back and take a snap and post it for all of you on the C7 forum.
There is actually a string of warehouses and buildings next to this one called the Russell Industrial Center that was used for storing auto parts in the day, and was then later abandonded in the 80's when the Detroit auto industry began its slow implosion over the last 30 years. A group of artists now own the buildings, and there is some incredible artwork on the exterior facades. Anyhoo...I digress..... I walk the Detroit riverfront every day on my lunch hour, and as I pass by GM WHQ and Cobo Hall every day, imagining I'll see that one single semi that is pulling up to unload the C7 cloaked in a mysterous camouflage cover.... oh well, we can all dream, can't we? Cobo is just a beehive of activity getting ready for the auto show. I'll be tuning in on the web on Sunday like all of you, and really looking forward to seeing the formal unveiling, and then being able to view it live, up close and personal on Industry Preview day January 16th. |

I'm surprised they would hang it on a derelict building.

Ox I agree that the bottom half is not shown but looking at how the hatch in this car does not carry on right to the edge of the rear seems to convey the message that the rear on it is different from what we have seen so far.....could it be that there was more than one rear end design selected for the final version and GM deliberatelty leaked the one that was not selected to throw us all off?

Agreed. Isn't it possible that the CAD image that has floated around for months now could have been an early design idea? They probably have hundreds of CAD images that never made the final cut...

Of course, totally possible. If it didn't match the other stuff, nobody would have given it a second thought. The problem is that a lot of these sources do match, or at least come very close to matching.

I don't understand why it has been almost a day since this photo was posted and no one has visited it and taken a closer/higher resolution shot of it? If I lived in Detroit I would have done this by now

Hanging the C7 reveal banner on that building, Corvette marketing must be going for the gritty, urban, phoenix rising sorta feeling. I guess.:leaving:
