Ok I am buying a C7 this year. If you are post here
I am buying a new C7 this year. I am not worried about start up problems.
I respect all the forum members who do not like it, but that doesn't mean diddle squat to me. I love the car. Most of all I love the new technology and the promise of a first class interior. I do not sweat the physical design details that seem to draw the most trauma. Believe me the car will turn heads. The public has seen C6 since 2005 as beautiful as they are they are yesterday's Corvette. I would love to have one before the warm weather has passed. Save the wave... |
I will be buying a "high performance model" whatever it is.
When it is available. |
Don't worry about first year issues. The C5 and C6 were both good cars in all years. I totally enjoyed owning my C6 the first model year. Still have it.

That start up issue thing for GM was a long long time ago. My first month of production 2008 CTS has been flawless in every aspect.
If your buying at MSRP the new c7 is an awesome deal and the residual lost in the first three years will be minimal. The depreciation drop in the first three years is minimal so in fact you will be making a smart move especially if you sell in the first three years... My anticipation is at most a ten grand drop over three years which equates to 250 a month cost compared to a 700 dollar a month lease payment. Buying early first year should in fact give you four extra months of no depreciation as well. Smart move and it's going to be an amazing corvette. Not sure it will have the 8 speed automatic but the manual will be a 7 speed. Get the track pack for added resale and fun factor if you can swing it. That's the hot resale item and will be the vette to own. Jmo you lucky SOB! |
I have my deposit on allocation for couple months now!!
I have 2008 Cpe, I factory ordered & love it but really looking forward to having C7, hopefully by Sept 2013!!! |

I love the car. Perfect renditions - and actual photographs - don't do it for me. :nonod: I'll let you know the evening of the 17th. |
Hey Mike,
Good question. No I have not. However the technology is what I am excited about including the electronics. There is no doubt in my mind it is good looking. I have owned 12 new Corvettes since 1971 and none of them have let me down in the looks department. |
I hope mine will be here around early Sept.
Probably going with white or silver.............:thumbs: |
I'll wait two years and get one used, I'm cheap :o

LOL Really? I would never buy a 2005 Corvette and the checklist of defects before taking delivery of an early 2010 Camaro was sixty items long! |

Last Thursday night my 2010 Toyota broke down and was towed to the dealer. 65,000 miles with a reluctantly purchased extended warranty. I was given a loaner last night because they are now not sure when I will get the car back. Whatever broke ( hybrid drive inverter ?) will cost Toyota around 10,000 !!!
I was under the impression that the Prius was one of the most reliable cars you could buy!!! You just never know ..... I will ALWAYS purchase an extended warranty ! And I do have a deposit on a C7 with Mike Furman at Criswell in MD. |
A purchase is inevitable however I will wait and learn from those who are "in love".

Any car is prone to first year problems, but they become well known quickly and they will get fixed under warranty. It would not bother me at all to buy a first year C7, and if I were still in my "Corvette mode" I would already have my name at the top of my dealers list. |
