What do you think the weight of the C7 will be?

I think it will be 3,030-3,040.

What do you think? Make it official and post it.

I think there's some bragging rights if they can get the dry weight under 3k, even if it's 2998.

I expect cars 150lbs lighter than the current model. So...
coupe at about 3050 ~ (6.5 lbs/hp)
light weight NA track beast at about 3000 ~ (5.75 lbs/hp)
FI king of the hill at about 3100-3200 ~ (4.75 to 5.0 lbs/hp)

My guesstimates, FWIW

3k + or - 50lbs

I'm going with 3100 as the curb weight too. That's very light these days. 3000 or under would be ridiculously light - don't see it going quite that low.

I'm going with a pound under 3000#, even if they have to lie about it, to achieve it..

:funnypost:
I am all in with a hair under 3000. You don't work that hard and settle for 20 Lbs over !

GM says 3208 for base C6, you really think C7 will weigh more?

You're absolutely right. It's an internal argument I have with myself. How much weight can they shave off the standard version to counter the added weight from the FI, wider wheels/tires, bigger brakes, etc...

I'll refine my 'top dog' to the middle and say 3150 @ with 660hp.
Coupe I still say will come in a hair under 3k if they can make it happen without blowing the price target.

Sometimes, it's easier to find a pound on your waistline that's easier to lose than a pound from your car.

No Dreamerak but it will probably be around the same weight IMO, I did not know the base coupe was under 3300 so I thought it was lighter. 3208 is pretty low already, maybe 50-75 pounds less.

I recall reading an article regarding the drastic weight cutting measures gm went to when developing the ATS. These guys are serious...
