Mastertvtech 12-16-2012 02:25 PM

JaxEagle 12-16-2012 02:27 PM

I assume that is a serious reply and not a tongue in cheek play on numbers ;)

Sonny71 12-16-2012 02:50 PM

If the paint, tires, wheels, and interior match for a 22K car garage kept car, I would say you are looking at 26-27K all in excellent condition, resale value.

Actual trade value, all things being as described above, should be around 24-25K.

BTW, here is a link to a similar car at BuyAVette.com

z06scentair 12-16-2012 04:29 PM

25k would be the lowend.

:iagree: Sounds like a nice Corvette(?) That's where I would start off at, but in the end, it's going to be what you and your pocket are comfortable with...

JaxEagle 12-16-2012 07:01 PM

Thanks all. I was actually thinking less than the average number listed above. Appreciate those who have weighed in.

:nono: I'm being told by the "experts" here that edmunds is the site to check now, and it has this one at 16-19k.

o2bnkc 12-16-2012 07:06 PM

$18-$20k.

Those are prices you'd expect to pay at a dealer.

Here's one on FleaBay that will close tomorrow afternoon. It's at $22,600 with the reserve not met.

So it's at a dealer who won't take 22,600 eh? Hmmm, it's automatic too... plus BSM's... two things that DQ a car for me. I suppose BSM's are easy enough to remove, although I have never done it.

Looks pretty nice, and quite a few options including HUD, with only Mileage: 20,929. I love that interior color!

Look again, that was private party numbers.
In no way am I an expert on used car prices. I also did not have a list of options. I just went with the info provided and looked it up out of curiosity and thought I'd share with the OP.

Key phrase, reserve not met.

I would too. You won't get one for that price, not with 22k, on it.

Well, they don't show a retail figure, just trade-in and private party. Even with 22,000 miles, you don't typically see C5s, even Z06s, sell for more than $20-25,000. You're starting to see C6s with fairly low mileage in the $20s. I think low $20s is a good ballpark for this car.

C5FORFUN2 12-16-2012 08:54 PM

Book values vary a lot depending on zip code, I believe.

x2

and even at that i question who would pay it when a similar mileage early c6 vert is maybe 5k or less extra

so few c5s actually sell these days. forum has a ton of ads, can't remember when the last sale was

ebay has a lot of ads, most with reserves which makes them worthless

one local dealer sold a 2003 coupe with 48k on it, auto, black on black for 15k, that's the last sale i know of in my area and it was 3 weeks ago

Maybe I am the Lone Ranger here but I would buy a C5 over a C6 because they look better and I like the raw race ride better than the luxury car ride.

Yer killin me

Vetteman Jack 12-16-2012 10:33 PM

I would say if the car could be bought for around $22.5K, it would be a decent deal, especially for a vert.

This is a simple question and can be answered simply. Do you own a C5?

My cursory research indicates he is sitting on the money waiting to pounce on a good deal. :D

My apologies in advance racebum if I quoted some of your posts with pesky questions while doing my research.:hide:

3GenVettes 12-17-2012 06:45 AM

For a premium condition C5 with relatively low mileage similar to this one, IMO the 22-24K price range is appropriate. Pristine C5s are harder to find than C6s, thus part of the reason they are holding their value well.

The value of any car is what you're willing to pay if you want it badly enough.
