i like the 80-82 c3s but i must say my absolute favorite would be a 1975 convertible. it just looks soo right with the top down.

i'd say 1973 is the best unique one as it combines both chrome rear and a rubber front

This question is like asking which of your kids are better looking.........easy answer is all C3 are diffident but all beautiful in there own way.
|
I'll defend any C3 classic against the likes of the C4, 5 & 6. But I'm on my second '80 so there you go.
|
I'll have to go with the 68-69 as my prefrence as they look purposeful, nimble and chisled. All the chrome bumper cars are great...
I have a 79. It's okay because it's sorta plain but when you add the spoilers etc....well it looks like an add on. Also, there were so many of these around when I was a teenager. None of the C3s are hard to look at though...beautiful design concept. |

I don't think a better looking car has ever come out of America. |
So, it's been decided. All C3's are a favorite. I concur. Sleek, curvacious and dripping with the CDI factor. Us C3 owners rule. Word.

Interesting observations, and I concur completely. Looking back at at the October 1967 issue of Road & Track, their Tech. Ed. a the time, Ron Wakefield, didn't have much good to say about the then new C3 body design. Well, what did he know now that he is probably eating crow?

Great thread! I think the '68-69's are kind of lean and mean looking compared to all that came after, but my favorites are '70-72. I, too, am biased, mine is a '71 coupe. I like the side grills, the front grill (with the front liscense plate mount off), and the rectangle exhaust. And the chrome bumpers are a must for me. Mine is a 270/350, but I think the ultimate would be a big block/LT-1 hood, and (I bet I'm in the minority here) factory side pipes, T-tops off, & back window out!
|
whats the best looking C3.?
My 20footer... Sure it got ding and scratches.! Every one a battle scare I put there myself..... even when it kicking my ass working on it in the garage I just look at it and I can hear it talking to me .......23 yrs and still going strong My first, third and last vette. Only the ferryman will seperate me from this one . . . http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...n/bbaf1f1d.jpg |
I like em all, my favorites being 80-82 years. I think one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen was a 1982 convert into a convertible. It's really too bad Chevrolet didn't build those years with convertible options.
|
I like them all. A Corvette is one of those cars it doesn't matter what year it is, it is a Corvette, and worth being in love with..

I prefer the looks of the 80-82, but power of the 68-70. With the ZZ4 and 2004R, I get the best of both Worlds. :D

As a 79 owner, I'd have to say my favorite is as 68 or 69. I love the chrome bumpers, side gills, and round exhaust tips, as well as round front turn signals.
|
I can't look at an 80-82 without seeing this:
http://cineplex.media.baselineresear...0524_large.jpg That's just what it reminds me of... I love 68-77 vertical rear window. I love the rubber bumper cars. I love the 68-72 removable rear window more...too bad they never made any rubber bumper car's rear windows removable. I've converted my rear window, so I combined those two loves. I also love the 78-82 dash, so i converted my 3 piece dash to that one...the 3 piece just looks too dated for me. I like that the 78-82 dash looks more modern. So basically, I have put all of my favorite features that span all C3s into/onto my 77...next, I'm hoping to find a way to install gills. I'm not sure which ones I want, but I know I don't want the black holes or the "new" mesh inserts on the fenders of my car. |
|
My 68 L 71 and my 70 lt1. Both convertibles.
Nelson007 |
and of course your db5 mr bond.
|
Iron cross, that is a beautiful 69, Lou.
|
This '69 ZL-1 is undoubtedly the most valuable C3, because of it's one of a kind rarity:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/pict...ctureid=128334 My '69 L36 looks the same, but not all that rare: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/pict...ctureid=110953 Evidently beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not the buyer. It has nothing to do with value. Even though C3s may not have been created equal, they came from the same basic styling mold. They all look better than anything that has left the factory since. |

For me probably the 1969, followed an inch behind by the 1970 - 1972, then the 1968, 1973, 1974 - 1977. Not a big fan of the rest, but still nice cars.
