WIDE Booty Finally Installed!!!!!!! PICS!!
Today I finally got around to installing my wide booty quarter panels I couldn't be happier with the results. The color match is perfect with no blending being necessary. I decided to paint all factory plastic pieces like the vents and mudflaps jet black to go with my matching diffuser halo and windshield pillars. This job was super easy. I thought it would have been a lot more difficult. Total time with a buddy was 2 hours start to finish. Then again my buddy owns a body shop so maybe add an extra hour or two if your not a pro. So here are the results what you guys think?
Before http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...i9898/full.jpg After http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...128_210007.jpg and a pic of the air vents gloss black for a little extra something http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...8_210043-1.jpg http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...129_113144.jpg |

So what spacer did you use and what size tires to you have. I'm a big fan of your vossen wheels.

Looks great. I'm picking my car up tomorrow from getting the rear quarters painted.

Wide bootys look best to me in 325 or wider tires, my taste and I do like the fit and finish of your wide body.

Looks good, But i can see a difference in the paint color from new rear to the paint on the rest of the car.

Dang... that silver is a dead-ringer match.
I may have to take a drive up North to your neck of the woods to get my stuff painted. Did you do the install ? or did you have him paint and install too ? I'm curious what he charged for the paint work. I've got my front fenders already... just 'gotta gather the rear kit and finishing parts for the front. |

Hmmm maybe I need to get my eyes checked cause it's dead on perfect. This wasn't like I just called in the factory paint code and painted it. I went to the paint supplier and actually had them scan my hatch with their computer and mix from there. No way to get a better match than that. Look at the third picture the color is not only close but it's exact. I think what you maybe seeing is the lighting difference from front to back. I was in a gas station parked at an angle so the florissant light wasnt even on the car.

I wasnt trying to be rude, I know I wouldnt be happy with it if it was my car. I can see it in both pics. The front looks more metallic than the rear. If your cool with it thats all that counts. Looks much better then the narrow body for sure. :D

Now you have to do the front fenders...lol..btw looks great!

Looks good.
But the first pic does make it seem like there is a slight difference in the shading. It could very well be the angle and the lighting. The rear quarter seems to have a slightly bluer tint. Also, the photos are at night under the lights. Take some daytime photos when you get the chance. That will show the paint much better. |
