Tune after a Throttle body

Hey,

I have stock LS1 with an A&A S/C. Looking to go with a BBK 80MM TB. Will I need a tune and if I do is it safe to drive to the tuner?

Please save your money-don't even bother with that piece.

Arun,

Normally I would agree with you, however I found one on the forum for $150. I figure if it improves throttle response and maybe a little power gain 5-10HP it is worth it. Let me know if it is more problems then it is worth.

it will not improve throttle response, and it will not improve power. But if you do fit it, it will require re-tuning, mostly for low throttle driving areas. Which will then cost more money.

So a double expense for no benefit. Spend the $150 on fuel and enjoy what you have. Or get drunk. Not both at the same time lol

Not worth it Arun went 8s on a stock TB!!!

Tb

Just to clarify I won't be doing a tune after a TB only. I will also be doing an LS6 intake, headers and pulling from a 3.8 to a 3.4. I researched that a supercharged car went from a stock TB to an accufab 78mm TB and apicked up 20 RWHP.

I don't believe, not for one second. Just a marketing ploy to sell a TB.

Just like a tuner who says he can make your car feel more responsive-yet it won't be any faster. So tell me what's happening here-nothing-your just getting a lighter wallet.

It's your money-and you can spend it anywhere you want it-but I wouldn't waste my money on it.

I switched from a 92mm to a 75mm TB and picked of 11.89 horsepower at the rear wheels..

I also saved a lot of money by switching to geico.
Moral of this story?...don't always believe what u read!.. lol
Happy turkey day!
