So my '12 eng was made in USA, one of the last Corvette w/American Made Engine perhaps? That ought to count for something on the spin cycle.

Considering ALL LT1s will be assembled at the Tonowanda, NY, plant, I would say your spin cycle just derailed

Don't worry about Racism, its the FN unions that chase the jobs away and drive the prices of cars up

wheels "made in italy" sounds enticing. but they are still "cheap" cast aluminum. even volkswagen put forged wheels on there cars.

Those so called cast wheels are light weight, strong and do very well at high performance levels no VW will ever attain. Don't believe all the BS about forged Vs cast wheels.

It has always been, currently is, and always will be the nature of a lot of people to mindlessly parrot some BS they have heard, read and/or seen somewhere regardless of its current merit. Easier on the brain that way

One update ... all the base-model forged wheels (Gumby's, 7-spoke, 15-spoke) are made in Taiwan.

Do you know the difference between forged and cast?

Definition of "made" aside, I wonder what LS3 engine part/parts manufacture were shifted to Mexico from 2012 to 2013 causing the change in the listing? Not sure, but the manufacture of a part that was already foreign made could have shifted to Mexico giving them the nod. My '12 LS3 A6 is listed as USA.
Yes, I know it was assembled in Canada.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but still on track cause I'm speaking of my 12 vs any C6 w/origin in the Estados Unidos Mexicanos. I think I got the "official" Mexican title in the correct order. Outgoing Mex Prez wants to drop the United States portion from the official name of his country.

So it's still possible that my United States on my window sticker means their United States but nobody would know anything about that haha

Sure sounds weird to have any C6 engine declared a Mexican origin.

One reason you should appreciate the new LT1------ all of them to be assembled at the Tonowanda, NY facility

What happens to the Wixom plant in this case??

2012 GS manual and Tremec T6060 is made in USA (and engine as well). I was blaming the poor Mexicans because the POS crunches in 2nd when cold. But after seeing your post, checked my window sticker, and it says USA. Geez.

Does your 2012 model do this? My 2008 does and I just assumed they corrected it by 2009. I just double clutch mine on the 1-2 upshift when it's cold. We should not have to do that, but oh well. That does eliminate the crunching.

I thought about making GM fix that under warranty, but if the 2012 models do it, that tells me they don't have a fix.

At least I only have to do it when ambient temp is < 65 deg F, and it only takes a couple of miles to warm up to the point where it goes away.

It would be interesting to know whatever it is they (Wixom technicians) know about their future! Hopefully they will continue hand building some performance engines

My '09 and a friend of mine, also with an '09, have the nibble/grind on the 1-2 upshift under the conditions you describe.

I believe GM has a document on this condition.
