Made a video of the Air Dam scraping.

There's been so many threads about what it sounds like I figured I'd make a video so you can see what it looks like....because I had nothing better to do today.
This is the right side with wheel turned all the way to the right going out the driveway. You see it's not hurting anything.

Outstanding video! I've always wondered what it looked like. Wow, lot's of harmless flex. I scrape my driveway daily.

That is a great vid! I am going to be able to sleep better tonight !!

Thanks for putting that all too common, horrific sound, into perspective.

That was fun to see:thumbs:

Thanks:cheers:

Also when your air dams get scraped up bad they are only about $50 _$60 for both sides.

Do you have kids? No sneaking that car out at night for a joy ride.

Mad*Max 11-08-2012 07:15 PM

that looks painful...

JJC5 11-08-2012 07:22 PM

Pretty creative thinking to do that! This forum can be great!

That is by far, the best video on the corvette forum. The sound that thing makes is unbelievable. Not only does the car turn heads, but this sound turns stomachs.

Awesome!!! I have my first c6 on order, and after reading sooo much about this on the forum, I was truly anxious. No so much now. Nice job!!!

Good job on the video! I was never real sure if the scaping came from the air dams or the splitter/valance on my GS.

 That's great ...but I still hate the noise :hide:

I actually really appreciate the video. If you only knew how many times, I have turned to "whoever" is in my car and say.... it is just a sacrificial piece on the car; it isnt hurning anything. Appreciate it. N

Nice work. Mine scrapes every time I pull out of the driveway.

jmac2009 11-08-2012 08:37 PM

I hane the same driveway which is why I took the took side pieces off and left the center in place. Made NO difference in cooling the engine.

It's the splitter for us, we'll at least for my GS. Got my 2012 GS in April and the right side of my splitter is already scrapped up from coming out of my driveway yet no scratch marks on the air dam under the car. Sucks! I did sand it down a little so you won't see it but its just gonna continue to happen.

Very interesting to see. Thanks for posting

Still makes me a little sick to hear :ack:

Great video. Mine used to sound like that. I cut about 1/2" off and no more noise. It still looks the same.
