Dumb Donut Ends in Disaster for C6 Corvette

Watch it here: Corvette Burnouts End with a Resounding FAIL

So many things wrong here. The too-close crowd, the genuinely bad donuts, and of course the finale. Luckily it was all caught on film. Thank goodness for the internet.

dvilin 04-23-2012 03:48 PM

Oh well a bit of fun while it lasted.

Tom45 04-23-2012 03:52 PM

This probably ranks about No 4 on the top 10 list of things you don't want to do with a Corvette. Maybe this was really a Turkish destruction derby?

Wildmanht 04-23-2012 03:56 PM

Doh!!!!

not08crmanymore 04-23-2012 03:56 PM

UM,THE VETTE GUY DID NOTHING WRONG IN THE VIDEO I LOOKED AT. It was the other knucklehead in the Fiat or whatever it is that lost it.

c1vettes 04-23-2012 04:02 PM

I now see why they call them donuts, cause you have to have a hole in
your head.:ack:

Maybe I'm too old, but I prefer mine at Dunkin.

bad2000z 04-23-2012 04:10 PM

Ouch......

ExRedRacer 04-23-2012 05:27 PM

Only thing the Vette driver did wrong was to have stayed in that little area with those other two cars trying to do donuts. Should have gotten outta there.

wolfdogs 04-23-2012 05:40 PM

unbelievable.....

Bill Dearborn 04-23-2012 05:53 PM

There was somebody leaning in his driver's window talking to him. What if that other car had been a few feet further closer to the door rather than the fender? The guy at the door would have been minus a couple of legs.

Big Lebowski 04-23-2012 05:53 PM

I don't know if I would call that a "disaster" but they are still a bunch of dumb A****s!

mgtr 04-23-2012 05:56 PM

The damage you could see didn't look so bad, of course the problem is always the damage you can't see! Do Vettes in Turkey have airbags? I would assume they are gone now.

brooklync5 04-23-2012 06:44 PM

Hope they have car insurance in turkey...

Not sure if the airbags will deploy in a stationary car, assuming he still had the motor running. Guy was a moron to be there, in any case.

cclive 04-23-2012 07:02 PM

Just imagine how difficult it will be to get that fixed right in Turkey.

I see nothing wrong with a little harmless fun, just as long as everyone is aware of their surroundings. Its obvious the ricers wanted to show off, then this went bad..........

Everybody there wanted a little harmless fun, as you say. Is that what they got? Harmless fun?

I think this is what happens when a bunch of obvious Einsteins get together for a little harmless fun.

:iagree:

I still do not blame the guy in the Corvette. The only thing he did wrong was not get the hell out of there when the ricers came along. The people that were watching are complete morons with way too much trust in the drivers abilities. Lucky nobody was hurt.

Medically we can't fix "stupid"......

Wayne O 04-24-2012 12:41 AM

That whole operation is a cluster f#*%. Spinning donuts in a tight ring of spectators is a disaster waiting to happen. If the car got away from the driver he could have mowed-down half the crowd.

jon6.0 04-24-2012 04:22 AM

Have you guys seen the videos of middle eastern "drifting" at high speeds? They basically throw cars into drifts and go around traffic like that. Crazy as heck.

Looked some up for you all:

My DAD is a TV Repairman, he has a awesome set of tools, he can fix it !

He can't fix this car Spicolli,

He CAN fix it !

01VETTECOP 04-24-2012 08:24 AM

WOW that first youtube video. That guy is as Crazy as a Bed bug, but he can drive that car !

Crowhater 04-24-2012 08:44 AM

The whole thing was stupid, but hey to each their own. I know for a fact that if he would have hit my vett I would have jumped out and beat him like a red headed step child. We watched a guy at the track screwing around on a 4-wheeler in the pit area and he hit one of the drag cars, they beat him like a pinata.

Some thief will take one of our corvette and put it in a sea can, then they will ship it over there.

shaimerej 04-24-2012 03:05 PM

It was interesting to see this on the home page. I am currently in Turkey doing a project with my work. (Yes, I had to fly out here on a day's notice two days after buying my 2012 GS! :( ) I was out here for three months prior to Easter. The driving out here is a bit tense to say the least! I am working near a town called Unye and have to commute about 10 miles each way. Driving here does not allow you to take your mind off the road for even one second! People: pass at will, stop in the roadway, u-turn on the highway, drive very slowly on the highway, drive very fast on the highway, have animals on the road, carts on the road, drive without lights. Stop lights are for the weak. Stop signs say "Dur" which is what you think if you're brave enough to actually stop at one. When at a red light, those that don't pass you and go though will pass you and to be in front of you. It drives Americans NUTS!!!! :willy: After some time, I have become use to it though. I don't see a lot of accidents really. The only ones I saw was when the area got 14" of snow (an all-time record for Unye). The thing I like most is that there is never a cop looking for speeders/revenue. There are never left lane bandits; the left lane is for passing and if you're not passing, get the f over! (Think Ludacris). The people have been very nice here. The whole gathering around spinning cars is a very Turkish thing to do. I don't think it's a great idea but I do envy the "freedom" to do it. (Pulling a stunt like this in the US would involve 12 CNN helicopters, Nancy Grace and a fleet of lawyers and cancelled insurance policies.) I wouldn't call them idiots as much as I would just observe that they are being reckless and that anyone who felt unsafe could have just walked away. Those who didn't walk away got to enjoy themselves and experience a mean American V-8 spinning circles in front of them. :flag:
