1985 L98 Stock motor upgrades?

This is a repost of another question I asked but I'm putting in more specifics. I have a 85 L98 corvette, stock motor, with straight pipe exhaust. I wanted to upgrade the motor by putting on a few thinks, a new intake system, runners, throttle body, and chip. I don't want to do anything extreme like cams or anything where I have to take out the motor and take off a bunch of things because I don't have the experience or money. So saying that, what are your thoughts? Anything other simple upgrades to get some more HP?

Hi
Cold air intake cut your air filter lid restriction, fit headers and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is the way to go:thumbs:
When i first got my 85 it ran mid 14.5 sec quarters i put the headers on and set the fuel pressure from std 30 psi to 40 psi, put a cold air intake filter on plugs leads and tune. went back to the track and did a 13.4 sec quarter, all else stock.

The headers are your biggest bang for the buck:thumbs:
I highly recommend bosch 111 injectors.
The vette is now supercharged and a lot quicker but those were my first steps, you do not want to loose that low down torque fitting too big a camshaft that is for sure!.

Skipe the chip and throttle body unless you just like spending money
Once the exhaust is done go after the intake next.
Some like adding springs and 1.6 rockers

I would suggest that you read Forum member Vader86's web site. There is lots of information there for you.

Forget the chip :iagree:
