What a shame!

Ironcross 12-05-2011 04:45 PM

interesting note, the right rear window appears to be missing the stainless.....:D

hard to believe someone could hate a car that much!

One thing for certain is the frame and birdcage have returned to mother nature....

Yes, most of it would have the texture of a wet noodle by now, too bad.
My bet the vin and Trim tag are gone, lots of people looking for them, if you found it, so have others :D

I am putting on the black face paint and the black leotard now, I need some interior pieces.
At 245 pounds, I no longer can turn sideways and disappear but what the hell. I will swoop in like a Bat ,,,,....... wish me luck :D

You gotta wonder how many cars of that vintage were parked while guys went off to Viet Nam, and never came home. :sadangel:

That SWC still looks beautiful even it is in a very sad state. That's gotta tell you something about perfect car design... Most beautiful car ever made IMO.

Don't want to know where it is, but please tell me it's not in either Oregon or Washington State. Tracked down the car I had dreamed of having since high school to there. Guy wouldn't tell me any more.

Down to bonding strips on the left front fender, this is like archaeology. As a Vietnam Wall-like tribute, I can imagine a car like this one in a small outdoor garden at the National Corvette Museum.

It MAY be the Spokane car that I have seen pictures from a different angle of before....

Don't think so- the Spokane car has 6 taillights and all the stainless, plus it appears to be (gulp) Daytona blue, as my high school quest car was. This car from all appearances looks to have been stripped of all the exterior stuff- bumpers, side moldings, rear valance, emblems, taillights, etc, and then stripped. You can see body bonding strip lines everywhere on it.

Wow, what a shame.....somebody PLEASE rescue that split window and bring her back to glory!!!!

Kustom8 12-07-2011 08:24 PM

I've seen this car before on here too.I think it's like from PA,or something out east. What a shame, and she's still beautiful....
There's a 67 sb conv. sitting behind a crazy old man's house about 25 miles from me,and been there for going on 30 yrs I hear. Also,a real 70 AAR cuda sitting a field not too far,and has been there for yrs.I never understood why these ppl won't part w/them.I can understand the Vietnam thing, and a memory, but someone had good taste in cars, and if i was a parent....i would want my son,or daughter to smile down, and let the lagacy continue.....

GreaseMonkey 12-07-2011 08:33 PM

Looks as if a wall may have fallen on the passenger's side. Too bad about this car.

When i was in college, there was a guy who had an auto parts salvage yard. He had a fenced in area that was his. No one was buying a thing from that side of the yard. He was going to restore them. No lue what happenned to them.

Old neighbor has a '65 coupe which, when I moved into that house, he was resto-modding. He finished the car, it sounded and looked great. BB car, customized. Sweet, sweet ride. For the past 10 yrs the car has sat under a blue plastic tarp. He also has a '67 Camaro SS/RS convertible sitting behind his house. Sort of the same story although, I highly doubt it's covered. :toetap: He won't sell either....

I know of a SWC in south florida that was pulled into the garage in the early 70s to change the fuel pump and it has never been back out.

He has not interest in selling it.:crazy2:
