Wow. An incredible find. And, incredibly dusty.

Azriel 10-24-2011 02:49 PM

They're keeping the dust on it?

AGVI 10-24-2011 06:31 PM

Perhaps it's the dust that brings the price up?

:iagree::iagree::iagree:Boy are you correct Frank! Neat car though!

It is my belief, but I don't have the facts to back this up.. :lolg: that 1978 pace cars are the most commonly stored in plastic with low miles corvette, so a 13 mile 78 pace car is not all that rare, although a dirty one is probably more rare than a clean one.

"dirty one is probably more rare than a clean one." Ha! Well put!

Nice story, but it's hurting my eyes looking at it with all that dust on it. :willy: I find it hard to believe after sitting all those years, It fired right up like the guy said in the video.

That is very true

dboz 10-24-2011 10:43 PM

With the dust, it just makes it look like every other beat up Corvette. I agree though, not really that rare. They are posted all the time with ultra low miles and fetch about 20k. If they paid 50k for that one, it will see a few more decades of dust from the dealership piling up before they sell it. The dust just equals neglect to me.

DZRick 10-24-2011 10:50 PM

I think I'll start bagging and selling NOS dust.:hide:

I have posted more than once, if you want to enhance the value of your old corvette, buy a shovel and a barn. Put the corvette in the barn and use the shovel to dump dirt on it.:rofl::rofl:

If you're a 78 Pace Car...you gotta love this stuff though! :D

Sunstroked 10-28-2011 09:07 PM

I suppose someone who needs a new 78 pace car in their museum/collection will buy it for 50k. The rest of us would just wash it and enjoy it.

L82shark 10-29-2011 08:58 PM

Mine has more dust on it than that, and I will make them a way better deal!:yesnod:
