Maybe this will help Johnny out with the ladies.

Yeah......
Johnny Depp nice... someone gave him a 59 Corvette. Its not like he has the money to buy one for himself.. Its always better FREE... |
Thanks. The movie also features a Fiat 500:rock:
From the mind of Hunter S Thompson:eek: Amber Heard :smiliedrool: Haven't been to a show house since "Electric Horseman".....I'm gonna see this one. |
Hmmm I like the idea Deppster has the same car as me !
I'm just wondering the director gave him the car because he worked so hard acting in the film. I never knew acting was hard work. Earn millions for remembering a few lines and being able act out a roll is "NOT" hard work and certainly doesn't deserve the rewards that this actor earns (Corvette on top of all the coin). I hope he enjoys the free car that I had to friggin kill myself to own. Geezez I'm sounding like a banting jealous freak ! I guess I am ! Good luck to Jonny I'm just a bit peed off he's not a car guy and now owns a 59 Vette that will most certainly sit in a shed and never be used ! I guess I'll watch the film because I'm a car guy and my misses will wan't a perve at spunky Jonny Depp ! (never met a woman that doesn't get wet over Jonny Depp ! Stewy |

Don’t worry, he won’t keep it....it represents Americana and he finds that highly offensive (he resides in France because that better suites him). He'll sell it and buy some green piece of crap to make his conscience feel better that he did something for the planet by buying a car loaded with batteries. He's a great actor, but what a tool.

Wow, you sure know alot, his wife is french, that may have something to do with it? In europe, privacy is regarded highly, notice laws controlling Paparazzi activities, photographing and chasing of stars children, etc, they have google earth on the run!

Never mind, this is not worth the effort.......ha ha...
Do some research on Depps anti American views and comments, and as for the "more refined European paparazzi", ask Princess Diana how that ride to Starbucks in France went. I am sure the C1 is an affront to his hostilities towards the Bourgeoisie. The C1 is defiantly Bourgeois. :flag:  |

Look at it this way, at least there's a 59 corvette in the movie! Also, the car will stay in America. Maybe we will see it go for over 100k at BJ auction with all of the proceeds donated to charity. You never know... Btw - I think Depp is into 50-60's cars.

51 Merc
I don't agree with his politics but he also has a 51 merc he had redone. The lead sled type. To each his own. :D

I saw the same show about his 51 Merc, they said he's had it for years. I guess he must be a little bit of a car guy.

I saw the trailer for the movie last night and noticed the close-up of the car's speedo showed the "dots" design on the speedo miles (should be "dashes" on a '59) so thats out of a '58 at least. No front license and bumperette assembly either.
Somehow I think the car is probably a Hollywood "20 footer" and not the best '59 Corvette on the show field, if you know what I mean. Not sure why anyone would get all jealous about it... the guy probably makes $20M a movie and they gave him a $45k driver as a tip. Whatever. |

Careful guys, you're starting to get a little off topic. The monitors are out there...

(never met a woman that doesn't get wet over Jonny Depp ! Stewy http://www.autopartstrail.com/johnny-depps-ride/ Had it for years, and it aint no Ferrari. Nice job by Killer Paint. He just had a small block ford put in it. This guy is a standup guy that makes 20M a film because he sells tickets. He's earned two academy awards for his work, and a shelf full of golden globes. He's as good at his trade as you are at yours. You don't like him because the women do? Aaaah, poor you. This guy came from Kentucky, and worked at a 7-11 not far from me. More power to him. My only problem with him is that he drives a Ford  Now he's got a decent 50's ride, a red Vette. BTW, if you're looking for the Corvette in the movie, don't blink you'll miss it. The scene is short. The real star of the flick is the old Fiat 500 that the boys virtually destroy during the movie. This car really brings back memories for me as I had the exact same model, (only I painted mine Corvette Sunfire Yellow), during my college years, back during the Jurassic era. You haven't lived until you do the dirty deed in a Fiat 500. Almost as difficult as doing it in a Corvette. |
So assuming most of you already own a C1/2 which most (inc myself) will probably never get to own and youre jealous because someone with more money has one also?
Boohoo:( Life sux |
Must be something about those old Mercurys. I had a 1958 Mercury Monterey convertible. The push buttons for selecting gears was unbelievable. What a tank.
:lurk: |
you know the ol' saying....
