The Corvair, Nomad and roll-up window hardtop prototypes probably were junked over 50 years ago, but the re-creations that have popped up in the last few years are well done and treats to the eye.

The hardtop car has surfaced and is being restored. There was a thread about it either here or on the NCRS forum a year or so ago.

Apparently, though, the Corvair and Nomad have gone on to that great chopper gun in the sky.:flaghalfmast:

To my understanding both the Corvair and the Nomad are tucked away in a ware house in Newport Beach, CA...

If you have an address for that warehouse, I'll go check on them...

what do you consider early? i know it has two hood pulls, but that still covers a wide range of cars.

Well, 2 hood pulls, entire front end cloth, deck lid early and cloth, inside firewall cloth, rear bullets cloth, rear quarters cloth, top cloth, early vin tag, choke pull early, small dime windshield wiper, no cut outs behind the seats, 53 radio, should I go on or should this be enough for critics. Oh it also has a real 066 head and real 53 valve cover. If you would like to take a look at it, call Ashley or Roger and I'm sure he would let you look at it.

I chatted with the owner on three occasions during Bloomington Gold and he did NOT say this was an actual GM prototype. Quite the opposite. He stated is was a recreation he was building. Upfront and forthright honesty.

Here are a few pix I shot.

I find this hard to believe. By now they would have gone on the block at B-J for mid-five figures.

I do too, but I read this book:

And it says that the two cars are hiding in California... I hope so!

Don't believe everything you read. If both those cars are still in existence, I have bridge in Brooklyn.......

Wow, been a few years since you have changed your screen name again isnt it Roger, I mean really after everything with the #29 car and the real one in Florida showing up, you start this all over again?? Lets see some photos of your daughter in the car again since she probably owns it on paper??

Did the Motorama Corvair have this same reverse hinged trunk configuration ? If so or if not, it's a terrific feature.

Talked to him about the Nomad an nope he doesn't even like the Nomad, but I assume you have never talked with him either since you like to blast him for nothing. You must be good without facts!

I hope to see him at Carlisle. He at least has some talent by looking at his work!:woohoo:

I actually like the Nomad style one the best, just sayin' :D

I would love a stock looking Nomad style replica of the original in Pennant Blue but have a new chassis, engine, ac, etc. That would be wicked sick

I somewhat like it, but like the Corvair too. I went to Bloomington, looked at the car for probably two hours. The NCRS judges around it were only giving compliments and John Kennedy really liked it. There are about 6 guys on this forum who only trash talk this guy. It's funny because he pretty much thinks they are all useless and bad for the hobby, but just let's them badmouth him. It's pretty sad, it's part of history now, and he obviously has a great deal to offer this hobby.

Again I like both cars!
