1960 speedometer cable
I am trying to install a speedometer cable on my 1960 vette. Does anyone have a picture or drawing of where it actually goes on the tranny. I have it up on the lift and its not that obvious. Sorry for asking something this obvious,

You don't say what kind of tranny - the drawing and pic are of a '61 B-W 4-speed.

Thanks
Frankie,
Thanks for the pictures. I checked the trannie and its a T-10. I put the cable on this afternoon, it was just the spot you suggested. thanks again, Jim |
No problem. Glad to help.

Hi and thanks for the above advice. My issue is removing the nylon gear itself. It does not come out with the speedo cable, nor does it want to come out past the fitting. Do the
retainer, fitting and seal need to be removed to slide out the driven gear. Secondly, since mine is chewed up and fairly new and I have a 3:55 rear end, is it possible that I am using the wrong size driven gear. (have a '65 T-10 4-spd in my '61). If so, how do you tell the size of the drive gear without pulling the tranny apart? Thanks |
