Can only imagine how great you must feel about the car, and the fact that you tore down a complete wreck and put it back to prefection, great job.

I just went back to the original posting of this thread to see the pics again. It's amazing where you started with this car. It was hardly recognizable as a Vette. Just simply amazing.

Still looks the same. Only needs the interior installed. That will happen over the Winter.

Wrapping it up this Summer.

Thanks

Maybe Chevrolet should just send the 93 ZR-1 Spyder that went into the sinkhole up to you for restoration....

What an honor that would be!

Will be campaigning the car this year at different shows and putting it up for sale in the Fall.

This past summer I was at a Good Guys show with a mutual friend of owner of CAMPELL AUTO RESTORATIONS and spoke to him about the ZR-1 Spyder. He's got connections within GM and he told me if enough people started a write in campaign to GM they might consider having the ZR-1 community restore the car. I didn't bother to mention this to anybody because I didn't think it would go anywhere and I know Brett, the one to get it done just doesn't have the time the car deserves. Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass if GM let the ZR-1 community rebuild that car? As far as I'm concerned the the Spyder is an enormous part of the C4 history and the most iconic ZR-1 there -was. I really miss that car and knowing it's damaged the way it is on display just isnt right. I've tried to get in touch through Facebook but have never got a responce.

I have half a notion to build a replica of the Spyder when I do my convertible. The rear upper surround wide panel mold is done.

ZR-1 Spyder

Has anyone in the ZR-1 community thought about setting up a crowd funding site to raise money for the restoration of this iconic ZR-1?

I wonder if GM would be prepared to kick it off for us???

just a thought guys:cheers:

Cheers from across the pond in Australia

The car has been completed and is headed to one of the auctions in January I think,Ive got pictures but not sure if it's alright to post them and the car is gorgeous. Sadly GM could care less about these cars. Several people including myself have inquired about private individuals restoring the ZR-1 Spyder that was crushed in the Museum sinkhole. From what I understand GM won't let anybody do anything with the car,GM has stated the car is too far gone put its no worse than any of these 3 U.K. crushed cars.

Yes the car is going to the Mecum Auction in Kissimee, Florida in January. Is awesome looking and has been a very well thought out restoration. Brett does amazing work and is a true Corvette enthusiast.
