Muncie Input Shaft Bearing
With the onset of winter, it was time to do a rebuild on my 37 year old muncie out of my 73 vette. I've completed the rebuild with the exception of the front input bearing. I received a JAF imported bearing with the rebuild kit. I've searched everyhwhere for a BCA/Timken or even a old New Departure bearing. Two questions, is the JAF bearing a solid long life reliable bearing? Anyone know of a source for a quality American made input shaft bearing? The car is not raced or even driven very agressively. but I'm handing the car down to my daughter and I don't want her to have it worked on for another 30-40 years.
Thanks, Dean |
Just Google up N307LOE. Several sources come up for Timken, BCA, and other mfgrs.

I tried every vendor that I could find on Google. Many of them claim to have the bearings but so far I am up to 6 order cancellations. Guess I will have to go with the Japanese bearing until Carlisle next year.
