My order of preference is Arctic Blue, silver cove with beige interior, then Cascade green with beige cove, thirdly, Aztec copper with beige cove. Fourth would be Polo white/silver cove w/red interior. I also like the Inca silver, but not with the correct red interior and I like a contrasting cove which would be red and that isn't appealing to me at all.

Colors

Red Car, Beige Coves, Red Interior, or my personal favorite on a '57 all Black.

groovyjay 12-12-2010 06:23 PM

IMO Cascade Green captures the year perfectly. There's been white, red, black, silver, brown and blue cars before and after, but Cascade Green was only available in 56 and 57... I might be bit biased though... :D

57 color

I like the Silver Blue with Inca silver insert....women go nuts over that color. My 58 is Silver Blue with White insert and it really sets them off, you see mostly Black or Red. Bill58.

Loren Smith 12-12-2010 06:59 PM

I'd never seen even a picture of a 57 in Arctic Blue with Red coves. The new NCRS Judging Guide says that was an available option, it might be a stunning combo, with the Red interior.

John 66 Vette 12-12-2010 07:18 PM

All black. My father has a all black fullie.

92GTA 12-12-2010 08:00 PM

Arctic Blue with silver coves, hands down.
http://image.hotrod.com/f/Bob57/9756...e-corvette.jpg

2nd would be Inca Silver and 3rd would be Polo white with silver coves.

I would paint my '56 that blue/silver combo but I'm going back to the original black with black coves for originality.

Geralds57 12-12-2010 08:26 PM

It's gotta be all Black, Red interior. Even the Stones said to paint it Black.

C-1 Generation 2 12-12-2010 09:19 PM

Casacade green with white coves and white interior and hardtop.

gbvette62 12-12-2010 09:46 PM

I guess I'm a little different. My first choice would be Aztec Copper with Adobe Beige coves, although I would place the Cascade Green/Adobe Beige combo as a very close second.

DZAUTO 12-12-2010 09:55 PM

What is the BEST color (by the majority) and what is a favorite by many people, is two totally different things.
Some like black.
Some like Aztec Copper.
Some like silver, and on and on and on and on.
But the best overall color seems to be black with a red interior.
DO NOT let that discourage you from the color that you prefer.
But a black 57 seems to have the biggest preference.

I also have NEVER seen an Artic Blue with red coves. BUT, I have seen an Artic Blue with a red interior. Personally, I LOVED it!

My favorite color choice is red (red coves) and red/black interior. :D

:iagree:

My friend in Milwaukee has been restoring this combo with 2 carbs since he bought it as a basket case in 1975 for $1,500. He now has close to to 10K in the car. Engine runs on the frame now. Still not painted and body still off car and not fully restored. As he now approaches 60, I would like to see him finish it in his lifetime.

It's about personal preferences. Thankfully everyone has a slightly different taste. Here's my taste on display:

I like the cascade green too, because to me it's uniquely 56-7, and kinda symbolic of that era, like Elvis's pink Cadillac.

On '50s Fender guitars it's called Surf Green.

Cascade Green ======= It represents the era
Black ========== Classic Sinister look
Red ============ Aren't all real Corvettes red
Arctic Blue ======== What a classy look
Inca Silver ========= A very rich color
Polo White =========== Aristocratic

I can't make up my mind on the color much less the color of the cove or interior :smiliedrool:

I love all the colors. The polo white with inca silver cove and red interior is stunning. How about polo white with inca silver cove and beige interior? I think it was offered in 57 but I have never seen it.

Gimme1MoreC1 12-16-2010 08:57 PM

1st choice is Black w/ Black coves, tan guts, tan top, blackwall tires. (like dahogan's post)
2nd choice silver w/ silver coves, red guts, black top, blackwall tires

sub006 12-16-2010 10:54 PM

Though I don't think it was available from the factory, I also like '56-'62 C1s with the hardtop painted to match the color of contrasting coves. Like a red one with white coves and top. Or a black one with silver. Copper or green with beige.

For the dog-dish on steel wheel "racer" look, you have to decide if the steel wheels look better matching the body or the cove and hardtop. You would see racers back in the day with diffferent wheels on the front and rear axles, somebody brave could paint the front wheels cove color and the rears body color. Probably too "circusy" for most!

Two-toning emphasizes that the hardtop can come off, you've got two cars in one.

I googled Deutsch-Bonnet and it showed a emblem that looked like that sign. The 57 race programs show that those cars raced in H modified class with Crosleys Fiats etc. Must have been a small motor. Thanks for the question, now I know. I had thought it may be stood for David Brown.

Yes, it was - horizontally-opposed 2-cylinder, 750cc; dreamed up by the French to take the "Index Of Performance" trophy at Sebring and LeMans. They were a rolling chicane.

Stewart Allison 12-18-2010 06:38 PM

Yes I thought the DB was the co founder of Aston Martin David Brown but the Logo looks like a stand alone brand. I remembered that uneventful french company ! I'd be pulling that sign off the wall and replacing it with a C1 Corvette sign LOL. :leaving: Stewy

tach drive 61 12-19-2010 07:26 PM

there is only one color worth talking about in my book I think its aztec copper /beige coves beige interior white top , now if its a racer simple alll black or red matching coves

Black with silver coves and a red interior. One of the classiest looking cars of all time.
