what clutch do you FI guys run?
Im talking about the 600 rwhp+ guys (tjwong, AKS Racing, lcvette, etc.).
Do you run a Mcleod street twin? Im currently running Spec Stage III+ - which is a single clutch. Good bite and streetability. Id like to avoid the Mcleod street twin because it can be brutal on a d44 out of a holeshot. Id like the clutch to be the 'fuse' in my setup. |
Well, there aren't very many options to choose from. The problem is that most vendors end up using the SAME pressure plate and the difference becomes the friction material. Otherwise, you'll have to go street twin. I'm not sure if you can "feather" the street twin, it will be the most durable clutch to go with.
Carolina Clutches also seems to be a popular choice among c4 owners (and Bill at Zfdoc.com). |
I run a McCloud twin disc...

The McLeod twin is pretty easy to slip. If you drop it, it will find the next weakest link though.
I have a DF Centerforce in my car. |

I have a DF Centerforce in my car. Doesnt it seem like most of the guys who've broken spider gears in a d44 here, had Mcleod twin and drag slicks? Its a great clutch - just too good of a clutch for our d44 rear-ends. |
