starter relay location??
 
hi its a 91 vette auto, i need to know where is the starter enable relay located, and does the 12v goes from ign to relay to p/n sw to starter OR ign to p/n sw to relay to starter??? thanks

Power ( heavy yellow) goes Ign switch - relay - inhibitor switch

Time you bought a FSM ; well worth it for this sort of work

Yes that's the "info and gauges thing". Its your instrument cluster above the relay. In case the pic isn't clear yours should be just like on my '90. Its under the steering wheel if you unbolt the carpet, pull it back and stick your head under there(if you can fit) you can barely see it next to that a/c clutch relay. The ac clutch relay should be marked as such anyway and the starter enable relay is usually marked "12v", but it should be the one closest to the steering wheel(on the right from your view under the wheel).

OMG i cant believe it!! i tore my car apart every where trying to find the d... relay, i took off the center like screen which i thought it was the IP to find behind it the chime relay or whatever it name is and to pull it out i took off my double din gps!! just to find out its not the one, and after i saw the pic above i went and took off my real ip this time to find nothing behind it!!! now i know what i have to do tomorrow morning after i put everything back together ( i hope ) thanks everyone

lol. Hindsight's not only 20/20, it can be painful. The relay is a little black square, fits in like a plug and comes out with a tug. Replacements like 6 bucks down at an auto parts store. Had to change that little bastard more than once on mine.

Thanks for all the help from u and other members in this great forum my car is running again, I found the relay and replaced it, it was not to easy to get there but my nightmare is finally over( for now, u never know what surprises a 20 years old car will be hiding for u! Lol) thanks again everyone

2 yellow wires ign to relay,then yellow/blk power to ns/clutch switch then solenoid relay grounded by pcm blk/yellow ire

Where and exactly what needs to be removed to access the relay?
