1995 BCM nightmare

Need some help !!!! I got involved in helping my father troubleshoot his 95 vette last year...syptoms...key fob not working...locks not working..battery dead...car will not start...alarm not working. I found through investigating he had a bad BCM. I bought a used one on ebay installed it and the dash lit up all the locks operated and everything seamed fine except the car would not start and had 3 times the milage listed on it so my father paniced and sent it back.... He ordered a new BCM through his local cleveland ohio dealer and has been told on several occasions that it was on back order and the date lenghtened time and time again just to be told last month they can no longer get him one.Can some one please direct me to where I could purchase one of these units and where I could have it programed or flashed for a decent price...I no longer have faith in GM or the dealer for these things........Thanks for any help you provide to me.

THE BCM stores the mileage and is also programmed to look for a set resistance in the key pellet ( one of 15 values ) which was obviously different from the one you have.
IIRC only a dealer can program a new BCM with the correct info.
(Prevents people falsifying mileage on cars )

IIRC, I believe it has to be done within a certain amout of miles, 100 or so?

If you can deal with the wrong mileage on a used BCM you can get a VATS bypass unit that will allow the car to start at least

I just repaired a 95 for a friend that had a bad BCM. His car had a lot of problems. I sent the BCM to Ken at kandbcorvetteproducts.com (K & B Special Products) to be rebuilt. The price was very reasonable and the turnaround time was short. All of the problems on the car were resolved.

Thanks for the endorsement. We can repair any 90-96 BCM/CCM.

I went to your web site to get some information, but didn't find what I was looking for.

I know every repair is different, but can you give a ball park on what the BCM runs to fix?

I'm looking at one now that may have these issues.

thanks.
