How do you take the badge off?

Send a PM to C5C6NORM. He took his off and painted them also.

Hi All,

We are working on this item now. We will have the replacement badges with whatever the finish you want from carbon to color matching to whatever.... So you don't have to waste money to buy new emblem. (it's quite expensive) Stay tuned.

Hopefully this will be an overlay. After reading C5C6Norm's explanation on how to remove the emblem I am not ready for that process at all.

Has APSIS developed variably colored GS emblems yet? I've only had them for a few weeks and the chromies are already driving me up the wall, they're so gaudy.

I brought this very topic to Harlan Charles, Corvette marketing manager yesterday. He told me that 80% of the Vettes sold have Chrome or polished wheels, so they made the decision to go chrome on the emblems.

The Jake GS at SEMA had black emblems...I told Harlan how much I liked them (and showed him a pic of my Lemans Blue convertible GS clone with black wheels). He agreed that black would be better for me and that hinted the Jake blackout package might be coming soon.

I feel like so many Corvette owners have poor taste. No, I'm not saying that those of you who like the chrome emblems have poor taste. Obviously they're not to my liking, but the reason I say that I feel like Corvette owners have poor taste is because of the fact you mentioned, Joe.

I remember recently I met a C5 owner who commented on my C6. The first words out of her mouth were "Did you put any chrome on it yet?"

I gave a flat answer. "No." That should've been the end of the conversation right there, but it would end in no such way.

"When are you going to put chrome on it?"

Considering she was serving me food, I politely said "Perhaps soon."

:iagree:

But draw some solice from the fact that every factory rep
I spoke to liked the black out more racing look....but simply stated...that's not what sells.

Those that like the race look, or more importantly, actually race, know that the factory guys appreciate that and it's us racers that make them love their jobs!

Yes, there is a thread on here now about their CF and red one, more on the way. Sorry, you will have to search for it. I saw it either late last week or early this week I think.

I hate chrome. When will we see the "how to" thread? :bigears

I like . Color is a plus vs chrome. Nice job.

Interesting. How did you get the paint to stick to the chrome? Sanded first?

Take the mudflap off (leave top attachment in place and move to the side) and then you can reach the screws for the emblem. I held my flap off the side with some tape while I remove and attached the mod.
