this is from a supporting vendor sunsetorangecreations:

"I have removed Z06 mufflers many, many times and never had to cut or drop the cradle, just the sway bar needs to be moved out of the way.

It takes patience, moving the muffler in the exact motion needed and guiding it from both the pipe end and the tips end.

Make sure the car is as high as possible so you can get the proper down movement.

The motion is a down and clockwise corkscrew type. The over axle always tries to bind up on that evap solenoid thing, but it can be guided past it safely if you take your time.

Hope that helps to inspire someone to do it without cutting."

I had the same issue. I removed the heat shield to get alittle more wiggle room up top. It took me a loooong time but it eventually came.

Have you dropped the rear sway bar? If not that will usually do the trick.

Make sure it's high enough. I had the same problem, mine wasnt high enough but I got to the point of no return and ended up cutting it off. Patience is the key which I have none of.

As stated already remove the heat shield, that will give you just enough space to get out. It will be a bear to get back in too but it will eventually go.

work with it , it will come out, a down and clockwise motion is needed to get it out, it hepls to have another helper guide it out on the otherside

I had the muffler mod done Thursday night and the installer had the same issue with the passenger side muffler. No matter what he did he could not get it to clear. So it was sawsall time. He took 1/4" off the end that fits into the h-pipe and it worked.

Good Luck!

I'm glad that worked out for you but I would never do it. Removing the heat shield gave just enough more room to twist it out on mine.

heat shield and vac box slides out from the passenger side frame rail ...gives you about 2 extra inches this shouldn't be hard at all

Billy Boat has a good video on their website on how to remove the stock mufflers.
