17" wheels on a C3?
 

Has anyone out there installed 17" wheels on their C3 vette?
If so what is involved in this switch?

I think Zwede has 17's.

It's not a well done page, but I don't care. Anyway the same rules apply no matter what size wheel you use. About 4.5 inches max back spacing front and rear. The use of wheel adapters or offset trailing arms alter the back spacing numbers.

Yes, and it depends on the wheel, if you want stock vette rims, as I did, keep my car all vette..in general....I used 17x9.5 '92 vette rims/tires...
wheel adaptors are needed though...as well as moving the ebrake tab off the t-arms.....to behind the rotors...
with custom aftermarket wheels, no adaptors should be needed, but you gotta measure your offsets...and make damn sure the wheel center stays the same or you can load hell out of your rear hubs, shortening life...

Someone on the forum has 17x8 rally style wheels. I think they're made by vintage or vintique, something like that.

If you're just interested in going to a plus two without increasing the tread width then you can mount any wheel with a 5 on 4.75" with 7/16 stud bolt patter with a 4" backspace (or zero offset). These measurements will put the rim in exactly the same location relative to the hub.

The factory looking 17" Rally rims are made by Wheel Vintiques and you can order them through Jeg's or Summit.

http://www.corvettefaq.com/wheels.asp here is a small list of wheels. If anyone has others to add, please let me know. Apologize in advance for any red x's you see - those are bad wheel records in DB. I'll fix those ASAP.

Anyway, I got the 17x8 Wheel Vintique Rallys and enjoy them. I have more info about them on my page.

SmokedTires-I've seen your vette on the forum before and I like the 17" TTII. I wish I would of went with 17" TTII's instead of 16".

I saw a c2 with GOTTI wheels in corvette fever, looked
way cool. I for the life of me can't find a GOTTI dealer.
Does anybody know if there still in business?

I checked my setup and the 17" seemed to come very close to fixed or moving parts.

I now think of getting 18" rims........

But first of all I need to get the whole puzzle back together......
