is anyone reproducing these decals? The one on my car is not to my car.

While the decal has a GM part number, they would be hard to reproduce. The old C4 decal itself is a plastic film on a paper backing. The printing was done by a large mainframe computer printer and the "ink" for the characters is actually on the paper backing. When the characters on the print band strike the film, the ink is transferred to the back of the film.

Once the decal is affixed to the car (console lid or storage compartment lid) it's on there permanently. Any attempt to remove it could cause the characters to separate and no longer be readable.

The decal also has the specific vehicle VIN printed on it. Is this how you know the decal is wrong??

I have been told many times that they cannot be reproduced. I just found out they can be, officially licensed by GM. This includes the door stickers (VIN Certification, wheel loading, etc.). They are not cheap.

I can understand how they can be wrong with all the parting out of C4's going on. In my case the PO did a lousy paint job and the labels were half covered with overspray.

I don't believe they will reproduce the "certification label" (VIN) that's on the door "UNLESS" you supply a digital image of the one that is to be or was removed. The balance of the labels there's not a problem with!

The certification label from GM can be replaced only while the vehicle is still on a "certificate of origin"! Once sold/titled it can't be be procured from GM.

They aren't inexpensive but if it's the "final touch" what's inexpensive got to do with it?

The OP is talking about the Service Parts Identification sticker that is on the underside of the console lid. It lists all the RPO codes, the VIN and the paint WA numbers.

So to get the RPO decal, he will have to have all of the RPO codes for all the components installed on his car. Because some RPO's are individual items and some are included as component pars of an option, it can be very difficult to get the exact codes to make it "authentic" Having the wrong sticker won't help him at all.

The only way to get most of the RPO codes is to order copies of the window sticker and build sheet from the NCM. The build sheet will have most of the RPO codes.

It looks like the only way to order a replacement from that website is to have a digital pic of a decal in order to get a replacement.
