Yes bone stock! not even an airfilter change 11k miles on the car!

that's crazy. goodjob!

i saw ranger just posted an e.t. very close to yours with a stock Z06, but he had drag radials.

however, you trapped roughly 4 more mph.

WOW, terrific times! Nice to see both the Z06/ZR1's setting records :)

:iagree: They are truly awesome machines.

Congrats Kyle. Driving was impressive, wish i could shift half as fast as you guys were. You were pretty consistent i thought for the changing conditions/street tires. Was a good day for everyone.

Correct! Apples to apples instead of apples to oranges, (same track, same day, same drivers, maybe even a better driver in the Z06??) although some Z06 purists will still disagree and use the fastest time ever in a Z06 to compare to yours even though it is wrong.

There wasn't a better driver out there at MIR than Kyle, so I would say the apples to apples comparison is right on the money.

And I truely believe there is more in it! I cant wait till spring to get some DR's on it too and see the full potential of the car.

For all those people trying to compare Z06's to ZR1's the best stock tire pass yesterday by ranger in his Z06 was his personal best too... and it was 11.10@128 so a good comparison it that a ZR1 is over 4 tenths and 5 mph faster stock for stock!

Congrats, nice driving and good comparison!

High 10.4's or low 10.5's

You do good work........ congratulations

Great car too....... who would of thought that we would ever see 10's bone stock on pump gas and with a warranty to boot.

Another late congrats Kyle! Sorry I was not able to make it out, sounds like I missed some great conditions.

Now that I am finally back in town I will try to get to work on that fast list.

Kyle Lemish 12-18-2009 10:27 AM

i've been getting some wicked tire hop. and not under launch conditions. i'm getting it once i'm already rolling (say 20-30mph) and then smoothly but aggressively giving it gas (not stomping it).

love you track times... would be nice to start attempting my own straight line stuff...

have you guys been experiencing any wheel hop? and if so... got any suggestions? (11k miles, 09' ZR1)

thanks...
ps. do have some buttonwillow track time. head to youtube and type in "aecmew" for vids. man what a ride.

thanks for the ride too.

Which means +135 mph

Do you think it will be easy
I think when you use drag radials you will be able
I can't wait to see 10.4

phatmobilec6 12-19-2009 05:56 AM

there's a guy on the board runnin high 10s with a bolt-on LS2...

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/drag...85047-10s.html

...but I'm startin not to pay attention to 1/4 mile times much. The best driven stock Z06s can barely break outta 12s here at my local track in California. :ack: Goes to show the track you race on and track prep are almost as important as tires, launch technique, and hp/tq of the car. I'd love to see a stock ZR1 break into the 9s with the right tire & launch at the right track. I think it could eventually happen! ZR1s are indeed amazing vehicles!

C5 Pete 12-19-2009 03:50 PM

Congrats on a great pass!

I'm glad you were able to get out there. I wish I had been able to go down and race with you guys. MIR is a great track. The guys there really make sure it is prepped well.
