Totally awesome...not doubt....especially with a manual trans...but I'd still rather have this, at a fraction of the cost :

Edit: Nevermind found the mods on the car a few threads down :)

Not sure that car would even be cheaper let alone a fraction of the cost.

Yep, that's why I actually called before posting.........
MSRP of 2010 ZR1: $106,880 The Lingenfelter ZR1 would have to have almost $42,000 in mods put into it to be double the cost of a stock Z06. Even assuming you could get a new Z06 heavily discounted I don't see how you could mod one and only spend "a fraction of a cost" of a ZR1 with a few bolt-ons. |
Without a doubt one of the most impressive cars I have ever seen in my 38 years of life.
|
Congrats LPE on getting it into the 9's.
Very impressive and with very few mods. I wonder how much more you could expect out of this set up with a cam and headers. Great job guys!! |

http://www.raceprovenmotorsports.net/ Just out of curiosity, what did they say it would cost to build that Z06 (Built LS7, SC, 4l80 conversion plus labor and tuning). J |
"The Lingenfelter ZR1 would have to have almost $42,000 in mods put into it.."
You're kidding, right??? Per LPE the following is what's been done to the car... "Car is running a stock 3.42 rear diff. Factory halfshafts. 2.66 Z06 gearset that has been micropolished, courtesy of RPM transmissions. Stock ZR1 clutch. Stock suspension. Our larger supercharger inlet is utilized, and will be available soon. Larger instercooler. Stock engine with stock internals. Lingenfelter upper pulley kit along with lower overdrive damper completes the run down of what we have done with this car." ...for some reason it's hard for me to comprehend how the above mods would cost $42,000  Cheers, Paul. |

My bad...at least my inability to comprehend that the ZR1 mods cost $42k, goes a long way towards proving your point ;)
Cheers, Paul. |
Right, MSRP is one thing but how many folks on here actually bought one AT MSRP? Probably less than one can count with one hand, if any at all. However, that is an argument that I just find quit fickle! You picked whatever you wanted to drive and that car is going to take and X amount of money to get into the 9's at 145mph. So, roll with it and be happy and spend less time comparing dollar figures to other cars. Some cars just need more to make fast, some don't. Also, you can have a 9 sec. civic but it is no different than the other buckets on wheels.
Now, the most impressive part of this car is just how much power this thing is putting down with only and upper/lower pulley, intake, intercooler-mod(s), inlet and tune. 740rwhp is just phenomenal! Was this on race fuel or pump gas? |
Question...was this still using the stock clutch. Apologies if this has already been discussed.
|
Entire driveline (clutch, diff, pinion, etc.) was stock with the exception of Z06 gear ratios. The 2.66 Z06 1st gear proved to be much easier on the clutch than the 60+mph 2.26 1st gear ZR1 ratio. This car was incredibly close to stock - spin the blower faster, increase intercooling efficiency, smooth air into the blower, small transmission gear change and some sticky tires.
|
I don't know wtf is wrong with my clutch. The pedal wont stop sinking to the floor even in roll on runs.
|
Congrats....Sounded like early shifting on the record run, no (2-3 & 3-4)??
Could there be even more in that car?? Ron |
