Tire preservative?

I have an old set of Goodyear Bluestreak Sports Car Special racing tires (with inner tubes) mounted on a set of magnesium Torque Thrust D-spoke wheels that I would like to put on my 67 for a photo shoot.................maybe even a short drive sround town. Problem is that the tires are slightly dry cracked on the sidewalls. Does anyone make any type of preservative that can be applied to the tires that will help preserve them or maybe even soften them a bit?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can try one of the paste type tire detailers. Here's one from EagleOne.

Don't make any fast stops, hard turns or quick take-offs, or you might find one of those Torque-Thrust wheels on the ground. Having tubes in the tires will keep them from going flat...but they won't help the sidewall strength any. :willy:

How about silicone paste? Maybe spread it with a thick cloth or dense sponge.

Shoot all the pics you want. Don't even consider putting these on a public roadway. Make this mental picture to help resist temptation: 55MPH, a sharp "pop"... entire tread from left rear passes the car as it slews violently right into the Armco then across two lanes of traffic, head on into a Kenworth hauling scrap steel. The driver survives, passenger does not. Those tires are not safe at any speed.......
