Speedworld Corvette Challenge Dec. 5 (Phx)

It's official. Speedworld has set aside Dec. 5, 2009 as the Corvette Challenge Day.

Gates open at 9:00 AM. Time trials at 10:00 AM and racing time TBD on race day (est. 1:00 PM). Cost is $25 for car and driver, $15 for spectators.

This is open to all Corvettes regardless of any club affiliation. There will be up to 4 classes with a minimum of 4 cars per class.
1. 9.999 and quicker
2. 10.000 to 11.499
3. 11.500 to 13.999
4. 14.000 and slower

Any class lacking 4 cars will be moved to the next slower class, except class 4 will move to class 3.

All cars must meet or exceed the minimum NHRA safety requirements for the class where they compete. If you have questions regarding those requirements, please call 623-388-0039 and see http://www.speedworl.../trackrules.php

We will be sharing the track with Arizonas Fastest Street Cars and you may choose to participate with them concurently. The track is presently advertising this as a club day, however, if enough cars have pre-committed by Sept. 20th, only AFSC and Corvette Challenge cars will be admitted and the advertising will be changed to match.

To pre-commit send an email to SW_CC@yahoo.com with your name, year of car, and tenative racing class.

If you've never been on a dragstrip before, this is a great opportunity to learn and enjoy it with help from friends in a safe environment. For those more seasoned veterans of the 1/4 mile, this will be a real blast.
