Skip Shift Bypass

I'm looking for a skip shift bypass and am wondering what you would suggest? I have seen several different types sold by many vendors. I have a 2005 C6 and I don't have a ramp and haven't jacked it up yet. Are the fuses ok?

Thanks

I went with the harness pigtails for the electrical connection on the tranny. Worked like a charm.

Check out Southern Car Parts, they have what you want and have a post a few down from yours.

Blown LED fuse works great for me!

I've got a spare skip shift eliminator. Was on an 05 C6. Shoot me a PM with your address and I'll mail it to you, no charge.

Go to O'Reilly's, buy a $3 pack of Littel brand 10 amp smart fuses. Use jumper wires from your battery to blow the fuse and install it in place of your CAGS fuse in the fuse box. Check your owner's manual to locate the correct fuse on the diagram. Should do the job for you and eliminate the need to jack up the car. If it doesn't work, you can always pay $20 for a harness hook-up at the solenoid. Or, take the free offer from poster #5...

IMO have the skip-shift feature eliminated via tuning. It's clean and easy. In the year or so I drove my car in stock trim, I think the skip-shift feature activated maybe twice. It was a PITA when it activated but with 'normal' driving I don't think it's really much of a bother. That said I'd still eliminate it. :)

To the OP... I don't have ramps or a lift either... I just went to a local high school parking lot on the weekend and found a friendly curb that I got the two right wheels up on. It was very tight space, but I was able to get it on. I think I bought my CAGS eliminator from Ecklers.

PM the guy that wants to give you a free one. Best way to go since it costs you nothing and you don't have to tune the car to get rid of it. And yes, the fuses work great.

Floor jack and jack stand in the garage and it took ten minuets or less.

I just waited until it was time to change the oil and modded the harness then while I had the car in the air.

They still have that Skip shift CAGS on 6 spd on C-6 Corvettes? ZR-1 and Z-06 too?
How about two pairs of Rhino ramps behind the front and the rear tires to get C-6 up and level with more space?:lurk:

I went with this as well. They have good customer service and good prices.
I think it's around $20 or so. It takes 20 mins to install if you have a floor jack, including jacking the car up and sliding the jack stand under it for safety. Actual install less than 5 mins.
The harness is on the upper side of the transmission on the driver's side.
Instructions are included with the kit.

The 09 I trade for my Z06 would come on and lock the shifter between gears had to turn Car off and restart to allow solenoid to retract. Will not own a Car without one don't like the Fuse idea.

install the fuse you can buy for 15-20 dollars. Much easier than crawling under car! Had one for 3 months , no codes or problems yet!
