Engine / trans cradle
Several months ago I asked if anyone made a cradle / dolly that would hold and engine and transmission together. Someone replied that a company in Texas (I think) made such an animal. Now I can't find that post. So..................would someone be kind enough to chime in and tell me who makes such a contraption?
Thanks, Rex |

I use a pair of "Motofeet" bolted to a pallet with casters on it to hold the engine and transmission; easy to roll around and store out of the way.

All those look great and very simple yet efficient. However, it seems that without the trans supported, it puts an inordinate amount of stress on the engine mount bosses on the block. Maybe I'm being paranoid about this.

I think that you are being paranoid. :willy::willy::willy::cheers:
It does have the "look" to be hard on things but it is really all a matter of balance and center of gravity If you are really uptight about it and if you are going to leave it in one place for a while just make a ground support for the tail-shaft. Those dolly supports you are looking can be had for about 75 bucks at Summit. I use them a lot more than I wish I was using them   Doug |
OK, you all convinced me. I just bought a Moto feet. Will add casters when I get it. Hope to store my original 327 and Muncie 4 speed on it while the ZL-1 is playing in the engine compartment in my 67.
Thanks for everyone's help and advice. Rex |

However, I'm paranoid about the same stress that you are. So, when I "park" the stored engine, I run a small scissor jack underneath the trans tail shaft support and let it take some of the load (off my mind). Jim |
Moto feet arrived today................looks like it'll do the job.
Now, here is what I was looking for........................ http://www.prorollers.com/eng_transmission_stands.html |
