Look for all of the premium performance Vettes, including the new Grand Sport, to have the wide body style to differentiate them from the base models.

The bad news is they're only making 10 of each :leaving:

And they'll all be powered with a 15 hp electric motor. The only option will be for the ZR1 which will offer a bolt on wind mill for added power.:rofl::rofl:

Ahh, you didn't hear the announcement that it is called Obama blue?:D

I saw the GS option at Sebring and it is merely some graphics (nice graphics) and the addition of logos to the high end leather option. The cars are numbered and the number appears in the graphics on the exterior of the car.

I wonder if there are any engine differences from the current LS3

SORRY!!!

I am a Grand Sport guy too. I've been fortunate enough to own two GS Coupes. One with Black guts and Z51 in 1996 and one with Red guts and base suspension, sold it to move to Wisconsin last Spring. Boy, was that dumb:eek:

The cars at Sebring were the Competition Sport Racer and the GT1. The GS has not been revealed yet. There are some good rumors out there but we'll get sent to time out again if we talk about it.

Yea, but tell all the haters of "z51 haters" it's not a model, they will be crushed...or in denial.:rofl:

Nobody hates the Z51 option. That would be silly. Almost as silly as thinking that a $1500 option is going to turn a base C6 into the near equal of a Z06. The Z51 option is, in fact, magical, it makes some people legends in their own minds.

ps btw, those grand sports top it all for silly. Some pretty high prices for a coupld pounds of vinyl tape.

Any hint of money going towards high performance cars, Nascar and racing sponsership, etc will not go over well with the gov't watchers.

Where did you come up with this crap? Stop watching the idiots on Fox News... If a business case is made for investment in racing--helps with sales...it will continue.

EXACTLY but only in the world of C6 owners. Have you ever heard a C4 or C5 Corvette owner with the Z51 option (yes it was a performance/handling option way back when-it ain't new to the Corvette option list) ever refer to the Z51 as a model???

Never!

They know better. The C6 has brought a whole new world of poser to the Corvette world.:smash:

Nice95gle 03-31-2009 09:24 PM

WOW 6 different vettes That's wild. I'm sorry but I don't get it. As mentioned earlier, what is the purpose of the GS?

Really GM are you serious?

I don't watch Fox news, MSNBC or the like. You need to understand how the gov't works. It is now controlling GM, even new CEO said as much. It's taxpayers money now and with all the flak the gov't received about AIG and financial bailouts they are going to be extra cautious with the auto companies. In normal times there would be a business case, now there isn't and all its going to take is one gov't person sounding off about GM investing money in "gas guzzling" (the words they would use, not me) performance cars, or "wasting" taxpayer money on auto racing that burns precious oil and pollutes (again, the words they would use), The White House and GM leaders will cave in to the cries in an instant. Gov't already said in its report on GM that it "needs to focus on the small, fuel efficient cars that today's consumers want" Yeah, I know that's crap too, but that's how they are thinking. The axe is falling and there is no one willing to catch it.

You think 2010 corvettes are built by stressed out workers? I dunno. I want to upgrade to the last v-8 corvette possible, but I can't lie, my c6 has been very solid in terms of reliability.
