MasterShift Sequential Paddle Shifter Kit

Dose anyone know of anybody using one of these?
I've ridden in an automatic that had one of these kits..it was very nice

I came across this in another thread on this site... for a manual transmission
http://www.streetlegaltv.com/forum/a...astershift.jpg

Technical:
Currently supported manual transmissions are Tremec TKO, T56, ZF (RBT transaxle),
3650 (fox body and S197 Mustangs), C5 or C6 Corvette, most Porsche transaxles,
as well as any automatic transmission.

The bump shifter can be used for manuals or automatic transmissions,
as an option with their paddle shifter conversion kits. Kits start at $2,200 dollars.

I just found my next mod... :leaving:

I was about to say..."didn't I see this a few hours ago in another thread?"

I believe in that other thread someone said that you might still have to clutch...that would be weird..

Plus, I LOVE the feel of shifting, which is why I'd never get an auto, or sequential auto..

However...it would be one of those, "just because" mods that would be neat.

Do you still have to clutch?...I know with their older units you had to....Hopefully they've solved that problem

I thought you already did some crazy shifter mod years ago?

I found teh answer..to clutching..this means that the clutch becomes the "Commit" to all shifting inputs..down shift two times ..but its not done until you press the clutch...intresting..might take som getting used to
1. Delayed Shifting
Pressing the clutch pedal is necessary for the shift to happen, so the Manual Shifter waits with the shift until the clutch pedal is pressed. This feature can be used for delayed shifting. For example, you can drive into a curve, anticipating that you will have to shift down into second gear. You press the paddles the required number of times, and no shifting will occur until you press the clutch pedal. If you don’t press the clutch pedal for a configurable amount of time, the Manual Shifter cancels the shift.

Yes. http://mastershift.com/p_street_manual.html

Basic Shifting:

Basic shifting is simple: just hit the shift buttons or paddles, press the clutch pedal, and the MasterShift™ Manual Shifter will push or pull the shift cables to place the shift shaft in the requested position, as you would have done manually before you had it. It is also possible to “stack” multiple shifts by pressing the paddle or button several times before pressing the clutch pedal. The Manual Shifter will then move straight to the requested target gear position................................ .............

Just happened upon this paddle-shifter for manuals device after reading about Jay Leno corvette which had this device installed. It looks like a blast for my 2005 manual Z-51! Price $2,400.

This shifter, along with electronic exhaust diverts, and a Procharger kit... ZR-1 fun for $60,000 in savings! (My insurance will be half the price, too) :)

Like the idea of paddle shifting conversion for my 6 speed.

Anyone know who can do the install and how much it would cost?

Thank you.

I think pressing the clutch to shift defeats the purpose of having paddles.
You should only need to press the clutch in at a stop to get the car moving.. once moving, it should be paddles only.

I'd just do an AUTO conversion and you'll never miss a shift again  Sorry just had to:D

Thanks,Matt
