Where is the fuse box located and is there a diagram for the fuses? Is there a guide to fixing the windows? They barely work. The door locks are sticking as well....help!:bs

If you're new to the C3 and the 79 you'll find a copy of the AIM (ie Assembly Instruction Manual) to be real useful. There is also a forum member offering pdf's of year specific wiring diagrams if you just send him an email. Helps alot. Don't remember his member ID so hopefully someone else can chime in.

Best of luck

One of the best things you can do for working on the electrical system is get yourself one of those laminted posters of the wiring diagram. I belieive it's Lectric Limited where I got mine from. It's tacked on the garage wall right on front of where the Vette parks and I refer to it a lot.

I ran across this while searching for a retrofit blade type fuse center for my '78 other than those universal aftermarket types. Guess I never stuck my head under the dash of a '79, as I was not aware the blade type fuse panel had apparently become adopted as early as that year. My question is, has anyone retrofitted a '78 with this?

edit - Anyone who wishes to reply to this post should PM me, as I've cancelled my "subscription" to it as of this edit.

I had to get to the fuse box on my '79 too. It's way up under there. I felt like a contortionist twisting around and laying with half my body hanging out the car just to get to it. I accidentally hit my face on the steering wheel twice just by turning my head. Then again, I'm just talented that way.

Good luck with the windows and door locks! :D

I just bought a '79 Vette and have all sorts of small issues. While reading through the forum I see you have some items that could be of use for the '79. Any chance I could my hands on those resources as well? None of my flashers work (turn or hazard), when I press the brakes the marker lights get brighter, my dash lights worked for a short time now they don't, and the list goes on and on. In fact I opened the kick plate on the drivers side and saw red wires simply cut but have idea what they do to or what they are for! I've got a real project on my hands here.
Thank you in advance for any help I could get.
