No point in even going down that road. There is way too much information out there since this thread started in 2008.

:iagree: I wish people would read the forum rules and follow them..this thread is 4 YEARS OLD!!

Mods, please lock this one down.

I was wondering when someone would mention this. In the spirit of fairness I wonder how the C7 LSx will measure up???? :D Will it be rated 5 HP less than the LS7's 505HP???? And what will it be called?

Breathing Life

This web site isn't very active compared to others that I've been on. I was just trying to breathe a little life into it. I guess that isn't ok here.

I find it hard to believe there is a car forum more active than this one. I've been on many, and nothing comes close. I often think this is more of a chat room than a forum. But it's not unusual for it to become somewhat repetitive and boring when the car has been out for eight years.

We never dyno'd our 2006 LS2 or our current 2009 LS3, both with the A6.

But I can tell you our LS2 always felt a little disappointing, considering it had 50 hp more than our previous C5. Yes, it was quicker when I'd go out in the country and time it, but it didn't feel much quicker.

When we got the LS3, the extra 36 hp felt a lot more impressive than the extra 50 hp the LS2 had. And my timing runs confirmed my butt-o-meter.

The LS2 is a very good engine, the LS3 is a great engine.

:iagree: :iagree:This "feeling" (or SOTP analysis) was addressed in several of the posts in this absolutely incredible thread. They say the fat torqure curve explains it. Lots of grunt down low, no peakiness . . . OK, it makes sense to me.

In any event, my C6 is plenty powerful for a DD.

might I add pretty impressive write up!! but I might add the ls2 intake is a bad design??? it been proven that it leaks from the different process the GM used to make them...due to the sonic welding they used

I'll be glad to share my stock numbers in a few weeks my stock 05, Z51, M6 gets a SC put on it March 1st so the first thing done will be a baseline dyno pull. I'll ask if they have both the HP at the crank and rear wheels as all the dyno numbers I see on here are rwhp.
