This is a repost - these folks made a conversion setup to turn a Z06 into a vert, but you have to supply the car and a check for north of $25k for them to do it. The bottom is held together by some kind of carbon fiber panel that bolts onto the frame. This is what keeps the car from twisting itself apart. Looks wise, it's nice. Performance-wise, it's a p.o.s. - the aluminum frame of the Z06 ONLY works when there is a roof panel in place. There is a reason why GM didn't make a vert Z06 and why the C6 vert uses the STEEL frame.

Those OK cars in the pics are just widebody conversions, nothing more special than that.

:iagree: And is the car heavier with the vert top mechanism and the extra support structures?

If you want to do that I have no problem with it, hell I think a vert with a wide body kit looks pretty

But...........Don't be putting Z06 badges on the Fu#*ing fenders! :nono:
That is bush league IMO :bs

:iagree:

I also hate how the CORVETTE magazine not only endorses it as a Z06, putting the word Z06 into the article as much as possible, but also that they say how they decided not to go with the 520 hp ls7...... anyone else think that a magazine specializing in corvettes should know that the ls7 is 505 :ack: ?!?!?!?!?

Final word in MT article

With the new supercharged Corvette ZR1, which breathes by way of 10.5 psi of boost, Chevy opted to modify the smaller, 6.2-liter LS3 instead of the Z06's LS7, deeming the 7's cylinder walls too thin to withstand the pressure. Gerisch recognizes this --- evidenced by the G-SPT's low boost pressure, even when set to high (4 psi)--- but similar to showing "GM that the Z06 they said couldn't be built in fact can," he appears intent on proving he also can build an engine GM can't. An uphill battle, indeed, as the folks at GM Powertrain tend to do their homework.
Our advice? Seeing that the standard Z06's 505 horses are already a handful to rein in, not to mention that Genaddi's blown G-SPT failed to prove quicker than even a 436-horsepower Z51 Vette (0 to 60 in 4.1, quarter mile in 12.5 at 115.0), we'd pass on the engine mods and focus on the SCS, which seems to perform as advertised. For $11,500, Genaddi will bolt an SCS to your Z06, or any Vette, but just beware of the minimal ground-clearance. The drop-top conversion runs another $18,300. Thus, a 2008 Genaddi G-SPT would cost around $102,000, including $72,125 for the Z06.
For that kind of money, though, the factory-blown ZR1 will do something the G-SPT can't -- blow the doors off a Z06.

Does anybody know if Genaddi is still in business? There was a report that they are not.

They may have sold some of these a couple years back......but my money would/is going towards a GS Vert with the 606 package.

It looks great, IMO. If it's claim of safety and performance is accurate, they'll probably sell alot of um.

Not unless they come up with a roll cage/bar so folks can track it. That's the problem with all C6 verts.

I would be ashamed to be the man driving that car. Not because it's a vette, but because he's in what looks like a parade or some kind of show off and he's in a poser mobile. If you are going to throw a widebody on a C6 that's fine, but for god's sake don't put a Z06 badge on it. Even if you throw in an LS7, don't put a Z06 badge on it.
