The total number of views on 2/1/24 was 988,225 with 7454 posts. A month later on 3/2/24 the posts were still at 7454, just like they had been since Nov 2023.
Given the recent activity of 8 new posts in the last 60 days, the expectations of the views would currently be around 997,000, but nowhere near the 2,238,905 now displayed.

So what happened at the forum to cause this error?
And what might the future bring?

Yes, I have been recording the number of posts and views monthly since March 2018, just as a curious thing related to how the forum dealt with pinned sub-threads and absentee thread owners.

When the thread owner stopped updates on this thread, the activity dropped by 93%. That not only affected racers and readers who were looking for current information,
but also the businesses who supported the forum with paid advertisements and a now smaller ROI.

A local forum in AZ, aka ACE (Arizona Corvette Enthusiasts), just announced it would be closed/eliminated on June 1 this year, after 23 years and many 1000's of posts.
That's a lot of history and shared information to be lost to a single computer keystroke by the system admin.

On a massively greater scale, this forum or even just pinned sub-threads being eliminated, would be a tragedy beyond comprehension.
Fortunately, while the printed word has slowly been replaced by the electronic world, the creation of an electronic device is available to convert those
electrons back into printed paper copies. So if you see something you want to personally save, turn on your printer and create a hard copy.
