how to install dipstick tube?
I installed headers today and the last step from ls1howto was to install the dipstick tube. After 1.5 hrs trying to get it in I finally gave up. I could only get it in about 1/4 inch, so I zip tied it so Iwould'nt have oil everywhere. Is there a trick to getting it in or am I going to have to take the header off.:banghead:

On our 2004, I just pushed it back in and it went. Had somebody under the car guiding it cuz I sure couldn't see where to shove it from the top.
I can't remember if it had an o-ring; if it did I lubed it w/ a bit of oil. |
just push it in, the dip stick should have a O ring on it. It is a bitch to get in there

It just friction fits ( o ring)
You can't really see it as you are inserting it... but once it is in the correct hole it goes in easily. |

If you look just over the battery compartment with a flashlight you can see it. Until I found this out I had no idea where it went. Once I did it took about 10 seconds to do it.

I'm glad you caught the double entendre aspect of my post....;)
