Separate Lens From Headlight Housing

NEW C-6 CORVETTE HEADLIGHTS. I NEED TO TAKE THEM APART TO CHANGE THE COLOR ON C-6. THE LENS IS GLUED TO THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING WHICH HAS TO BE REMOVED TO GET TO THE PAINTED AREA. THEY MUST OF USED SUPER GLUE OR SOMETHING, THEY ARE REALLY HARD TO SEPARATE THE LENS FROM THE HOUSING. MAYBE SOMEBODY OUT THERE FOUND A SOLUTION I HOPE.:bigears

The lights are made in Eastern Europe by Vistion and is they are not made to come apart and reassembled. I found this out from a guy I met at the gas station while pumping gas that sold them to GM.

I would try to sell the ones I have and buy ones in the color you want.

Do a search as this has been covered before. Apparently you can put them in the oven on low heat and soften up the glue enough that you can pull the lenses off.

I checked search and found nothing about heating and pulling apart. I hope the person with the procedure can jump in here.
Thanks for the replies:cheers:

Use advanced search on the C6 tech forum and put a checkmark in the "archives" box.

Ignore the posts from the naysayers and read Moto's and Abominations's posts.

Also Google headlight assembly oven, this is a common procedure on lots of cars. The process looks about the same on all of them.
