My turbos going on now. My V-tires going on today.

It may be a few weeks before I can get to Chicago for dyno tune. Z should make 550-575 to wheels @ 8 lbs.

Once I get the beast optimized ... I'll report back on how it hooks at 30-31 lbs rear tire pressures.

I know they sure look good @ only 600.00 for set of 4. If they perform better than the F1's .... I'll be very pleased.

Taking off my F1's ... found them badly corded on inner inch of both fronts. Probably 4/32's of tread left on rest of tires. Mileage around 15K.

I was gonna do trial of FI's vs V-tires on the new turbo setup ... but, with the FI's so badly corded, I wouldn't trust them for the comparo testing I'd planned.

I have been very happy with these tires so far.

I looked all over the web to find them and then finally just called the number in new york (from thier web page)

The guy was very friendly and very eager to answer any questions.
He indicated that these tires were specifically designed for our applications (he also used the Mustang word).
I told him I was in Wanshington State and he gave me a number to a company in Cal who sells alot of these tires.
I called this company and they too were very helpful.
I ended up paying $161 each plus $60 more for shipping.
Very good deal overall. They showed up at my door within two days.

So far only dry pavement driving but I have pushed them a few times and found they were very responsive and they griped very well. Much better then my wore out Supercars.
Very quite tire as well. So quite, I am starting to hear noises from my car, I never heard before.

I would highly reccomend these tires for others.

I will agree with the rain statement. Coming home from Columbus a few weeks ago, I was driving in the biggest downpour I have ever been in. I would have pulled off the road if I was on my F1's (or slowed to 40 if I was in the Accord). I was still going 65-70 following an explorer and the semis while everyone else was doing 40 with their blinkers on. When the traffic cleared and nobody was around I got in the center lane and "played" around with turning and braking.

I will be running the tires at 31PSI... at the track... Ennis..1/4 mile run.
2 weeks to go... Lots to do..
I will also be pushing 100 shot of N2O on these babies on this coming run.
So the verdict on putting them down on the track... With 440 horses, and full tire pressure... Lets see what these babies can really do..

Just received my set Friday! I purchased from the folks that sell on Ebay on Monday! Very good service. I hope to have them on by mid week, I would have had them on Saturday but I was out of town. They sure look nice. My Goodyear F1s are toast! I am looking forward to hopefully having quiet tires.

Just mounted the rears only right now. Fronts will be added in the spring. So far I really like the tires. I would recommend them:thumbs: especially for the price. Had to drive 30 miles to get them, but hey, it was worth it.

There is a performance car mag here in the UK who do a tyre test (they're like tires but spelt correctly....;) ). In that test, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymmetric came first but the Vredestein Sessanta Ultrac came 2nd which was amazing given their cost. When you read a little more deeply, it seems the Vredestein are not only quieter but more confidence-inducing on the road, being a tyre you could really lean on confidently without any butt-clenching. The Goodyear only beat it by being marginally superior on track which is irrelevant for most people. I'll certainly be fitting them when it comes to replacing my tyres.:cheers:

Put on a full set on Wednesday. So far great in the rain. I have nailed it once in first spun a bit but not like the Goodyears. They do ride rougher but that is because the sidewalls are stiffer which should give better cornering. They are great looking tires and I shall see how good they are overall on a run to Walla Walla wine country next weekend! Can you say Road Trip!

I had some on my 03 Cobra (actually still have them sitting here like new) but I like them, I might keep them to put on our Z06 when it needs tires. They hooked better on my Cobra than Toyo's and BFG KDW2's.

Everyone still arguing about how good these tires are...

I would say to take it from hearing how many different vette owners, and a bunch of us camaro owners that this tire is awsome...

I will have it out at the track hitting 100 shot on it this weekend,,,, so I will post on how good they do under N2O conditions...
There are around 5 of us on ls1tech.com that have these bad boys, and none of us have anything to complain about... Other then the fact they are not slicks.....:crazy:

These tires in the RAIN kick ass. These tires on the dry pavement are awsome....
On the track, dont go under 22PSI, for they seem to not grip as well..
I am thinking it has to do with the design of the tire, and with less air pressure the tire is not sitting on the pavement like it is suppose to..
loosing the main traction of the tire when you are punching it...

I seemed to slide all over at anything under 22PSI.....

But all I have to say is great tire... I will post up video of the performance with N2O...

Anytime you take tire pressure out of a normal street tire you are going to lose traction. Just look at how street tires wear when their air pressure is not right. Some of the hot rod magazines have tested street tires at the drag strip and proven lowering tire pressure reduces traction. Slicks and drag radials have softer sidewalls, so, when you let some air out of them they still have a full contact patch. :)

I really like what I'm hearing about the Vredestein Sessanta tires.

I've got 18k miles on my F1's but will run them until the wear indicators are even with the tread, which may not be much longer.

In looking for tires to match my '01 Z06 I notice that VS doesn't have an exact size match for the fronts at 265/40/17.

I don't want any rubbing issues. What do you guys think would be the best way to go regarding the front tire size?

Just to chime in, I just had a set put on today. 265/30/19's in front and 295/30/19's in rear. So far they are great. Paid $660 + $52 for shipping. What a deal! Super quiet compared to the Goodyears I had taken off. Got them from Fairmont Tires out of L.A.

WOW, that is a great price! Do you have a contact number? I am looking for about the same size setup (only difference is I have 18s up front.) Is there anyone particular I should talk to?

Fairmont Tires: 323-750-2840. Veronica will probably answer the phone. But if she doesn't, just talk to whoever does and they will take care of you. For some reason I think the 18's were $180 per, as apposed to the $150 I paid for the 19's. I was going to go 18's originally. I have a feeling that when I called back to order the 19's, they gave me wholesale price. The best thing is that I am in Sacramento, I call and order tires, they charge me $17 per for shipping and they are delivered to my door the next day before 10am. What a country! I am so impatient and I love that near instant gratification. Now don't everyone start buying these tires and drive the price up!

I want to put the Vredestein tires on my '01 z0 using the stock Z wheels. There is not a VS tire size to match the fronts (265/40/17).

VS does offer a 275/40/17. Would that be the best choice? Does anybody run this size tire on their Z??
