How about some 1/4 mile times? has anybody gone to the track with these tires yet?

I run a 02 z28, but if it makes it better, I beat some vettes out on the track with them.

LOL...anyways..
They are great at the track.. They stick awsome.....
As for the RAIN.. They are insane on the rain.. no slipping, or gliding, only traction.:smash:

Here is a run me vs a GTO......... I have the other vids I am rendering today... I will post up some others later for anyone who is interested in how they perform at the track....

Like I said, I will put the others up so you guys can compare..
But they are very consistant tires... They stick like crazy.....

driven my z on wet roads many times and have no idea why you guys think the f1's are so bad in the wet. Granted I don't try and road race in the wet but they seem to be fine, no pulling on the steering wheel or anything when going down a wet road.

I used to think the same exact thing until the other day. Road's that are just wet aren't really the problem, its roads that have standing water on them. My '03Z was drifting all over the place and I was only going about 45MPH. As soon as i wear these F1's down, i am definitely getting the Sessanta's.

SHHHH, they must have seen this thread? :cuss

Vredestein Tyres North America will increase prices on its complete line of passenger car tires by 5% on Dec. 1, 2007. The company's last price hike was in February, when prices of its summer, all-season and winter tires were increased by 4%.

OUCH.. really.. I will have to put a set in the garage...
Yeah but as for the f1's... Those are the worst tire I have ever seen or had... F1's & Standing water.. you better pull over and off the road..
Cuz I am on my vredessteins, and I will be coming thru at normal speeds....Dont need you sliding into me...

This happened, I had to pull out of the vettes way so he did not slide into me.....
I had my vredessteins, and no problem.. I think there was about 2 inches of water on the ground.
I live in Dallas, so our roads puddle like a motha.....

OK I don't really want to read through 11 pages to find this out. How much do they cost?

265/40-17 = ?

295/35-18 = ?

Just put mine on a few days ago and on my way to Thunderhill this weekend. Have noticed the stiffer ride Will report later

OK, back from Thunderhill. First the tires seem to ride stiffer and I did not notice a noise reduction compared to the F1 super Cups.

On the track I started out at 32 lbs front and back. Track was dry and 60's to 70's all weekend. The fronts were squeeling a lot around turn 2 ( a long sweeper) and 3 & 4 to some degree. I increased the pressure 1 lb at a time until I settled on 34 in the front and left the rears as is. Traction is great. They did stick quite well. I think my lap times were comparable if not a few seconds faster than the F1's. I ran with two other friends, one running the Toyo T1S and the other the Firestone Wide Ovals.(All C5's) We were very comparable, so I would give all three tires a good mark. No apparent chunking and my VS's look brand new still (after 350 track miles)

Drove through a monsoon in Redding, CA on the way down and no hydroplaining and my buddy following me said the water seeemd to come out behind the car and not spread sideways as you normally see.

So, conclusion is that for about $$$ 50% I think they will be a great track tire

bout 180 a piece.

GEOSZ06 10-27-2007 09:53 AM

$180 is more than What I paid for mine. And if all of you were paying attention to my earlier posts, I told you not to buy these tires because you all would drive the price up on them! Great tires!

So the advice you are giving is even though you need tires, dont buy these ones because it will drive up the price..

Got another set on order to stock up.

sperkins 10-28-2007 11:42 PM

OK next question:

Where to buy them.......

Hooker 10-29-2007 12:00 AM

Got out in the country on a beautiful, cool day today. Needed a little heart pounding action and decided to put the VS's thru some paces. Man, I like these shoes. Stuck like glue through some hard, hi-speed, swerves and some leadfooted accel. with the TC disabled. Drove about as hard as I'll ever hammer my baby and gotta say that my confidence level as far as what I think I can do with this car is sky high with the VS tires. Luv 'em.

BTW .... the VS are definitley quiter than the F1 on a stock Z.

Get 'em while ya can. Delivered to your door.

$660. to $680 with $40. shipping.

Bigstik 10-29-2007 09:09 AM

I am definitely gald to hear all these good things about these tires. I just wish mine didn't have soooooo much tread left on them. :smash:

Quick Silver Z 10-29-2007 10:29 AM

I'll take a long hard look at these tires when I'll need them I spring, if they cost a few more buck at that time so be it! I don't recall seeing much in the way of negative reviews and they are still less money than say GY SC's and Sport Pilots which not everyone agrees on.
