I vagely remember that there was some kind of federally-mandated warranty on emissions-related components, 100K miles IIRC. Anybody else knows about it, or may be I am confusing it with something? I have a '98 A4.

8 years, 80,000 miles...but that only includes major components, such as the cats and PCM.

SO I take it the infamous Aair injection check valves are not covered? The valves are $20 a pop, but the labor is a bitch. I just replaced them myself. I am wondering if I could have asked my local friendly dealer to fix it for me for free.

Too late now if you've already replaced them.
