Stock Plenum - What is defference between early and late?
I have an extra "early" plenum. Will it fit my 95? Pictures are even better to show the differences (if any).
THANKS! |
I believe one difference is the addition of EGR to the 1993-95 plenum. So your early one won't have that. I also believe the ports to the injector housings were wider on the later ones?
It's my understanding it would physically fit, though. Just that it might not be very ideal. You could always buy some injector housings (they are actually not uber expensive) and have your extra plenum and IH's ported, and keep your stock ones stock. :) |
You have the EGR but if it has headers that will be removed
the early plenums have the space where the egr tube bolts up you would just need to have it machined. and the hard vacum lines are different in a few spots the main ones up front one of them sharply turns downwards like on the 90s both up front are straight. It would bolt right up you just need to get the vacum lines situated there may be more but basically it will work |
Do you think it would be better to sell my early plenum to some one with an early car before I have it machined for a later model and use the money (and probably put some with it ) to TRY to find a later plenum? My thought is I hate to ruin a perfectly fine early plenum if someone needs it.

Why do you need to find a later one? I mean, what's the goal? I don't believe plenums tend to break much.
FWIW, both styles are available from Kurt White @ $1,300 each. |
If you dont mind me asking what did you pay for it?

If this plenum will work, I was gonna have it powder coated and worked so I wouldnt have any down time.
