1973 454 4spd Coupe For Sale
General Information:
This is a 1973 Corvette Coupe with a 454 engine and 4 speed transmission. This combination is highly desirable and hard to find. The Engine and chassis are matching numbers with proper 4 speed transmission. Although the picture of the odometer shows 39,393 miles actual mileage is 71,393. This is due to a speedometer change in the late 70s or early 80s. I have documentation from previous owner(s) describing in detail. The body is straight and has no damage. The color is Blue-Green with a Medium Saddle vinyl interior. Some interior panels are cracked and are due to be replaced. Drivetrain is in fine condition with no issues. Other features include a tilt and telescoping steering column, power steering, rally wheels, alarm, luggage rack, original AM/FM radio, factory air-conditioning (not working at this time, all hardware there and turning), and T-tops in good condition. I have owned this Corvette since 1998. I have always kept car garaged and out of the rain. She is an un-modified stock vehicle. Chassis: VIN Number: 1Z37Z3S430893, dissecting the VIN you will see that this is a sport/coupe with a 275HP 454cuin V-8 and it 30893 built during that model year. This was the 30,893 'Vette of 34,464 (this is a bit misleading as 4,000 S/N's were never used. Therefore it is really 26,893 of 30,464) total made in 1973. The A-pillar tag shows a date code of K20 which indicates a build date of June 20, 1973. The tag also shows that the trim code is 415 which is Medium Saddle, vinyl. The paint code is 945 which is Blue-Green. As mentioned above the body is straight with no damage. Under car appearance is good with no rust. She runs and drives great. Engine: The engine is a 454 (AKA: LS4, Mark 4, CWM) mated to a four speed transmission. The engine block number is 13S430893 (this means I have "matching numbers" (at least the block to chasis)!) The engine code is T0612 CWM The T means the engine was built in Tonawanda, New York. The 0612 means it was built on June 12th. (8 days before chassis build). The CWM means it is a 454ci, 275hp MT (MT= Manual Transmission). Radiator rebuilt and new heater core installed, carburetor rebuilt. Dave, your car is a nice car but, I think its the chrome bumper thing. If it was a 72 you would have sold it 100 times buy now. I think you do have it priced a little high. If your in a hurry bring the price down some if not let it sit. Just my opinion Take care

Dave Your correct a 454 4 speed 73 is not that common. You'll find a buyer. Big block cars are very desireable now and always will be. So is the tranny type. I bought a 73 454 4speed coupe this summer for a few dollars less but, I wouldn't take $19,500 for it today. Hang in there!

I looked a long time for my '73 Vert, BB, 4sp, and I didn't see many BB 4sp in good shape.. coupe or vert. The '73's are a kind of forgotten year, and the 2 chromes are getting rare and expensive now which is good for all who own them... IMHO It's just a matter of time for the '73... this car thing is really taking off now... |

My 02 cents. I think it's priced alittle high. While some peeps like the BB's , I enjoy my SB. With the price of gas going up and up, if you drive it more then just on the weekends, that's going to start cutting into the drive time factor. I drive my quite often, I couldn't do that if it was a BB. Just my opinon.

The 73 Corvette was going through a transition period lots of changes
The hood air intake was different, the windshield wipers didn't have that door like the 68 to 71 had, it had the front end endura bumper and retained the rear chrome bumper, lost the rear window that you could remove (I loved that feature) and this was the first year for radial tires on a Corvette. It had side beams for safety in both doors. The 73 is like the CAD of Corvettes because it was mellow and quiet and didn't seem to shake itself apart like the 68 to 72's did.
One excellent thing that I like about your car is that you kept it factory stock so it will be worth much more than any customized (chopped up hot rodded butchered Corvette) :cheers: :lurk: |

I too am a small block man at heart. But, the BB is still commanding more money dollar for dollar.(sometimes as much as 25-50% more) I drive my BB most of the time, the biggest drawback to it is heat from the engine. Gas mileage will never figure into these classic cars imho. The rumble of the BB will outweigh a few mpg's.

I genuinely enjoy driving my '73 LS4 454. It is a great ride......It'll run all day long with the C-5 boys cruising along at 80, 85, sometimes seeing the north side of 100; gets a respectable 15 MPG; it is comfortable, quiet, and always gets many complements! I think I'll do Wichita, to KC, to Topeka this weekend!

I would think that the 73 would be worth quite a bit. Wasn't the 73 the only "1 Year" bodystyle Corvette ever built?

Nice car and a very fair pice for what it is. You're not going to get the type of buying traffic you need here on the forum though. I'd spend the bucks and put it in Hemmings or other higher end advertising site and up the anty a little. Again, just my .02. |
