What caused the car to be totaled? On a side note, the guy wearing the American Flag Skims outfit should be arrested and charged by the fashion police at a bare minimum 😂

Getting on the dyno to baseline it before the mods begin.

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...1d131ba02.jpeg As far as mods I have the following I need to install: Engine stuff: Halltech KillerBee 2 (w/ LS7 MAF) LS2 90mm TB FAST 92mm (Mamo Ported) TFS 215cc CNC Heads w/ Ti Retainers YellaTerra Rockers (TFS specific model) CamMotion Titan 3 Camshaft (224/228-113+4) Kooks LT's w/ Green cat X-pipe Ron Davis Radiator w/ EOC Other ancillary parts to support the combo. Suspension Stuff: Strano Penske 8300 DA Coilovers Strano Sway bars (F 1 5/16" Tubular, R 1" Tubular) AfterDarkSpeed Endlinks Borg Motorsport Delrin 100AF bushings PFADT rear shock spherical bearing AMT Camber Kit, Upper A-Arm Studs AfterDarkSpeed F/R bump steer kit OE Set of Z06 Rears from House of Wheels w/ RE71RS in 295/35 for all 4 corners Still Need to get brakes/seats... |
Thos numbers are higher than mine with headers and a Halltech intake. I would say its very optimistic for a stock car, but all dynos read slightly different. Dynos are more of a tuning tool than a number generator.
|
Agree. I've never seen a completely stock C5 Z06 generate more than 375-380 whp. Very generous dyno.

Finally got my ride height straightened out-
https://photos.smugmug.com/2003-C5-Z...MG_9030-XL.jpg ......... and then a pic from today's All Chevy Show where she took 2nd Place out of all C5s and C6s in attendance - and there were a bunch, and they all seemed just about perfect to me so quite an honor. https://photos.smugmug.com/2003-C5-Z...MG_8823-XL.jpg Pro tip! Do not park by a tree if constantly picking leaves and twigs out of your car isn't your idea of a good time. Grrr- |
Finally getting ready to get back to fixing and doing some upgrades to my project, I broke the prop shaft 2 years ago right after I got it running. While I have the drive line out i am going to make some upgrades to the engine and drivetrain, this past spring I got the hood, front fenders painted and the rear quarters repainted, now it looks good I need to fix the drive line and get back on the road.

Oooooo more details on the motor build!
I built it long ago it made 868 HP @ 7800 on a water brake dyno, stock LS7 block and crank, upgraded internals and a slightly mild cam, I am working on a new bottom end now with good sleeves, more stroke, compression, and upgraded cam, I am going to reuse my upper end, hopefully we will be able to squeeze a bit more out of it. Check out the link it has a few more details in it |

@twinturbogto is that a modified aluminum radiator? Looks like it is in the stock location but you notched it and welded the end caps closed in order to fit the large intake tube?

It's fast, it's raw, it's visceral, and I'm glad I still have it (I'm original owner). Many, many great memories. Almost sold it this past spring, changed my mind and decided to keep for the time being. Kinda hard to contemplate not seeing it in my parking space...
Just treated it to a ton of service and so forth. This winter gonna treat it to redoing seat foams and new leather from Top Flight, which I'm lookin' forward to that one very much. Have a new C8 and it's an entirely different experience vs. C5, that's for sure. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...88f6b35e09.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...2565388b9b.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...2032c25a21.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...69bc7f5e29.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...230277021c.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...a3d36fc29a.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...e5ab9df5c2.jpg |

wonder if they have ever been directly compared to Sharplight’s headlights for light output?

not familiar with the sharplight headlights but I would be surprised if there any brighter on low or high beam. Looking at the halo pictured.here, is with the park lights on. The two outer halos turn solid and the inner halo stays as a halo on low beam. On high beam all six halos illuminate solid. There isn't a comparison with the OEM lights but thats really not saying much.

Doing a little garage painting over a previous blue wall. |
@Tyler_RN_EMT I had the same setup. I had an Azure Blue 03 5 speed with the black 18's Saleen wheels!
It was such a sharp car that I miss the looks of. I DON'T miss the poor seating position and shifting or the HUGE DOHC valve covers. It was always cool to see the engine move via the shaker hood scoop. I've had a 04 GT 5spd, 03 Mach 1 5 spd and a 99 Cobra 5 Spd. Then I tried a 04 GT0 and never went back to the Ford stuff lol. |
